Typical local fish and chip. The cook was tested. Fast service and de portion chip was huge.Food: 4/5
it was a long..hard..big..wet day , and i thought “oh yes why don’t i scran a standard cod and small chips with pea frittas curry sauce and last but least a steak beak” so that’s exactly what i did. little fid i know the sights that was awaiting my arival! i turned up around 7:54 on a friday night and was eager to have my tasty meal . i was pleased to see my good old chippy friend pooja on the till, she smelt like a pop. i didn’t bring attention to this . i then ordered my standard cod and small chips with pea frittas curry sauce and last but least a steak beak and all was good , suddenly after i’d ordered i was told to leave for not meeting requirements , i thought nothing of this micro radical racism . i waited another 47 minuites for the most vile thing i’d ever seen and to make matters worse I can't use this chippy any more as just found out that they use palm oil which contributes to deforestation and the death of nearly 50000 orangutans being killed as well as indigenous people losing their homes to deforestation. Unfortunately the chips don't taste so good when you realise the price the natural world is paying..... anyhow the anticipation started to build up and i was throbbing for this now ! i was met with sam and ella in a box. i cant speak about this anymore Dietary restrictions: oil was evil
Best fish & chips in Dorset by far , but the rude staff laughing in your face puts me off going there again. Shame
I'm very upset to be reading some of the negative reviews regarding prices. The cost of energy, fish, potatoes, oil, and packaging have rocketed recently. These guys work hard and have constantly served me good quality fish and chips consistently for over 6 years. After spending 4 years running shops myself I understand the difficulties in the current market. If you have a complaint, try asking them nicely to put it right. It's a shame some people still think we are in the 80s. Bet they wouldn't turn up to work for free! Smithson's are our go to and they come highly recommended. Chris
Pleasantly surprised by the portion size and quality. I order the regular cod and chips with a pea fritter. The pea fritter was terrible but both cod and chips were really good, fresh crispy and not too greasey.
First-time there today. Huge portions of food. Very fresh and tasty. Pleasantly surprised and it's local to us.Food: 5/5

Spent ages trying to find a chippie that sold Skate/Skate Wings for my Dad who loves it. Found Smithsons via a Google review from back in 2016 as they don't have a website. Gave them a call and they answered immediately and confirmed that they still sold Skate which was an answer to pray. They do take phone orders for collection but we chose to order in person. Covid adherence was very good and the wait time, considering the Skate Wings were cooked to order, was very short. Portions are more than enough and the quality is amazing. Highly recommemd this place to any officianados of the great British chippie. Menu is correct at time of review as collected when we ate there on Friday 20th November 2020.
Good value fish and chip. Went there on a Monday and they got a deal for cod and chip. The fish is really fresh and the battered layer is well cooked and crsipy. I LOVE the cod! Although I am not too impressed with the chip as I have tried much better chip in a pub. The chip is a bit too greasy but really fresh. Overall is good and I will go back for the cod for sure!
Always the best place for fish and chips in Bournemouth and around the area. The fish is superbFood: 4/5
