This shop operates some very dodgy business practices: - Selling produce that is often out of date and because of its high pricing, you can often find that the ‘reduction’ is still more expensive than in the majors. - Permanently operating with a low cash float meaning they avoid paying out the odd 1p-4p change. - Overcharging on some items that are physically price marked. This also includes reduced price items. - Operating in a way that means management is not always present and the shop assistants are unable to make decisions for themselves. This generally means that if an issue arises it cannot be dealt with at the time usually in the hope it will get forgotten about. Generally, the pricing is quite high on a lot of items, including milk. These are not just my experiences, but also of office colleagues and friends. This shop should be avoided at all costs. On the one small positive side, the shop assistants are generally helpful where they can be.
Dante wrote that there are 7 circles of hell. My friends, I am here to tell you that this shop is the 8th circle of hell. A very poorly run business. I mean you’d think it wouldn’t be hard to run a little shop with basic products but the measure of incompetence that some posses is clearly limitless. I would much rather walk through a mile of glass to buy a pack of expired gum from another shop before I’d be willing to even step foot in this shop again. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. poor service and a pretentious owner who clearly is just the beneficiary of an inheritance and has no clue what he’s up to!
Very friendly, pricing seems reasonable, reminds me of an old-fashioned shopkeeper who genuinely cares that you'll come back. Cheers
Nice people, but the variety of products needs to be increased
A functional local shop. Not a great variety of fresh food, but I've always been able to get something quick when I've run out of essentials. Staff are very friendly.
Staff always really friendly and a convenient shop to grab a few bits.
Thanks to Paul snd Jonny and all who work with you for always being there for us in the Village. Such a lot of choice and everything fresh and neat. Always made to feel welcome. Liz Howell
I do NOT recommend this store to ANYBODY. Half of the stock is out of date. None of the staff are trained and are extremely clueless. The floor and shelves are filthy and disgusting. The prices are ridiculous. Avoid this shop like the plague.
Good store that supports needs of the multiple residents around the Englefield area.
Very welcoming and exceptionally kind staff!
