The locations have changed over the years, including Bury Place (now LRB Bookshop), Sicilian Avenue, and during the 1980s and 1990s there were branches in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. Chris Edwards, the present CEO, purchased Skoob Books in 2006.

My favourite bookstore in town. Every time I went there I can always find books that attract me, and of course at fair prices. The staff there are also very helpful and friendly! Will visit regularly!
Nice bookstore and reasonable price. Old book but clean and looks new.
Excellent second hand book shop with an enormous selection of fiction and non fiction books. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgable to help in any way. There is always unique finds and good books on offer. They also offer a student discount which is great. This is one of the best in London so it is a must visit for any bookaholic. Amazing quantity of books available at half price. If you need anything that you don’t see at the shelves, ask someone and they might have it at the back. Thank you for the amazing service
There's something about basement level second-hand bookshops that's special, and Skoob doesn't disappoint. Packed shelves, lots of variety across fiction and non-fiction. And a good sci-fi & fantasy section too, if that's your bag.
It is so easy to get lost in this shop of wonders. It is a haven for people like me who enjoy the thrill of looking for books and making discoveries. Not an easy task of searching for a particular book though but the staff are always happy to help. I could definitely live here
Favourite bookshop in London full of hidden gems and other excellent academic books, as well as fiction; all for a bargain price.
I like visiting skoob. It makes me feel like doing a skavenger hunt. Love it! The bookshop became more spacious with the new layout.
A stacked basement bookshop, where they have quite extensive history as well as other non-fiction and crime fiction sections. There's also books in other languages and multiple shelves of Penquin orange-spines and others blue/green. It took me a while to get familiar with the genre/isle layouts and not get confused but maybe that's just me: I didn't have time to browse all of the shelves but I'm sure there was so much more to see! Also, they offered me a student discount that I didn't know about, which was very nice!
A wonderful second hand bookshop with a huge selection of books, very fair prices and the friendliest and competent staff one can imagine.
