We went in Marts and we spend an hour just looking around and then we brought almost 20 books! It’s a really nice place and we found some good ones there! They have books for everyone! We are coming back in may!
This was an incredible shop. They have managed to pack their space with a wonderful selection of books. The gentleman at the till was friendly and knowledgeable. I do wish everything in the store would be available to order online.
Extensive range of stock, friendly staff, an affordable second-hand section, merchandise, flags, pins, postcards... Oh, and it's only the actual shop that was part of the LGSM movement in the 80s as documented in the film Pride!! What more could any community member or ally ask for? Long live Gay's The Word! ‍‍
I spent far too much money, which is clearly a downside but worth it all just for being in a space where all kinds of intersectionality were recognised. This visit was like a pilgrimage for me…the handwritten recommendations were super helpful and I didn’t buy anything that didn’t have a handwritten endorsement!
Easily the best bookshop I’ve ever been to! I had to restrain myself from not spending all my money…such a diverse and rich selection of queer literature
One of the best bookstores in London. Everything is nicely categorized and the people that work there are so friendly!
Such a sweet treat! Though the shop is rather small, there are so many books in there, and all of them about and for queer people. They are also often about feminism, anti-racism etc - it truly is a great collection and it’s very hard to choose which books to buy. Signed copies can be found, as well as pins, badges, postcards and good book recommendations some of them are written on little cards next to the books, but the bookseller can answer almost any question and it’s truly a delight to listen to and read all of the reviews. 10/10 would go again!
A welcoming, beautifully curated bookshop. Fantastic recommendations. Also has great second hand selection as well as all the new paperbacks and hardbacks. Love love love
Lovely book shop with a great, thoughtfully curated selection and a friendly shopkeeper. Can’t wait to come back on my next visit to London!
Been there twice now on two separate occasions and both times it was amazing. I loved looking at all the different books and know they were all queer or related. Both times I've been the staff have been fantastic and so lovely. On my most recent visit, I took my girlfriend and we each bought a book to read and then later swap. 10/10, cannot recommend enough.
