Lovely, friendly family running this place. The butties are great, well filled and tasty. They also sell broster's pies. It's well stocked for the size. Sometimes queues at the post office but that's to be expected in a small place. Overall great little shop.
4 stars for friendly and polite, minus a star for poor wine stock. Always taste funny like they’ve been stored poorly. Post office functions well.
Never had anything but polite , attentive service from the staff in here . I can only imagine that running a Post Office is not the easiest of jobs these days and these employees are just doing their best . Patience and tolerance appears to have evaporated these days .
Excellent when they are open, unfortunately the times on Google are not accurate for the post office part of the store which closes at half 5
I’ve been using the post office for many years now and always feel so welcomed. The hot sandwiches are delicious and the bakery offers loads of choice. I’m always greeted with a friendly welcome and the shop has always had everything I need. The post office is so handy to have and the staff are thorough and know their stuff. It’s such a great shop to have on Skircoat green and the green would be a worse place without it. I’d give it fifty stars if I could.
If I could give zero starts I would but the people working here are honestly so rude I called about my sister not being able to collect my package when she was doing me a favour as I was at work and when I was asking how I would be able to pick up my parcel without a 6 digit code that I couldn’t find with the barcode I got sent she hung the phone up on me after being very rude the hole time I was trying to find out how to collect my package, I honestly don’t know how these lady’s still have there jobs as since I was younger the staff working here have always found a way to put me off ever going back and I can happily say once I get my package I will not be using my local post office again, I don’t like to write bad reviews but this really did frustrate me as I work Tuesday to Saturday and on my weekends I’m not in the area so I will have to try go before work to talk to the lady who hung up on me and was rude to me and my younger sister just to get my package that they wouldn’t give me the first time, what I’m trying to say is if you want to simply pick something up or are looking for good customer service do not go here
Got turned away twice in one day - early morning -" we're not open yet", 17.04 "we're closed". Despite the website saying it should be open at both those times!! Rude aggressive owner - you can see by the responses to the reviews here - really in the wrong job. Give this place a swerve unless you like being spoken to in an offensive way. I will be driving further afield when I need a Post office. Good Customer Service is free. No excuses for their aggressive, defensive attitude.
I didn’t use the post office but did go to the grocery store attached. Bought some essentials which were OK in pricing- but got sold a bakery product 12 days past use date. When it tasted offensive, I called back and they apologized and agreed to give my money back. I’d recommend checking the dates of goods before buying. Today is 22/8 FYI.
Brilliant staff. Very friendly. Lovely hot food cooked in a clean kitchen. Perfect for a cold windy day. Good location for local residents. Bus stops outside. Place to sit and eat outside if you wish Reasonably priced for a local shop. Offers Atm 24hrs a day. Gas, electricity and phone top ups. Everything you'd expect to find in your local shops. Mini bakery included.
After sending a parcel from this post office first class I was concerned as it still hasn’t arrived to the recipient. I simply called the post office to ask for advice and the woman on the phone was incredibly rude and unprofessional, not only this she failed to offer any assurance or advice on who to contact. She suggested me asking for advice was insulting to her which I am still very confused about. The lady on the phone who works in this shop then hung up the call mid conversation, extremely disappointing and strange.
