Award winning and family owned, we specialise in looking after our customers. We started selling fish and chips in London in 1969. we moved to Belgravia in 1979 where Mrs Christina and Mr George would serve film stars, royalty and tourists with the same level of graciousness and gratitude. In 1982 we arrived in Kenton and opened a fish shop because because my grandmother could not get good quality fresh fish to cook her famous fish kebabs.A shop was found and nearly 40 years later, we are still here, selling the best and looking after our customers."

Bought a large portion of chips early this afternoon for a take away. I have been coming there for 20 years and never had anything bad to say as everything was made with care and so delicious. Today, never have I ever been served chips like this.. My daughter gave birth yesterday and she really fancied some freshly made chips. These Chips were absolutely hard, so crispy as if cooked the day before and dark In colour. Chips were tasteless, not fresh at all and bits of potato were just added to our bag of chips, not sure what kind of oil was used. I paid £6.50 which is so overpriced, only to be severed this kind of poor quality food. Also staff are very rude and have no idea how to serve customers, so chaotic behind the counter. I believe Skip Jacks has changed hands with the owners and is run by different people. We dearly miss the old skip jacks owners, they were kind caring and generous with fresh yummy food. Extremely disappointing, won’t be visiting again.
Brilliant chippy living up to its great local reputation. Went on a Friday with queues outside. The portions are a good size and quality of food is great. Could take a risk and offer more veggie options. Vegetarian options: Could offer Tof-ish.
Tasty fish and chips.... Their jumbo sausage is very nice as well. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Worst worst savoly I've ever bought in my life, been trying to call the restaurant just now to tell them that this sausage taste like nothing absolutely nothing. No taste, no meaty taste no salt no nothing. Disgusting.
Worse chips ever...they refried left over chips.....cod was not cooked properly...burned on edges.....when I complained next day...the new manager was rude instead of apologising!!! Been coming here for ages...no more!!!!
Today I had a lovely nights out with my friend.I had some batter fillet of Haddock with nice and fresh crispy chips it was absolutely delicious. The fish was really fresh and tasty. Really impressed with the service! We will surely come back
I have been getting fish and chips from these guys for many years now, and I've never been disappointed with the quality although it was always a bit pricey, which is fine by me. But today I bought a few boxes of cod + chips for £14.50 each. I understand the fish got a bit expensive over the years but there was hardly any fish for the price I paid, so I feel disappointed. Also the chips weren't as good as before, all in all I do not think it represents a good value for money, so I would give it a skip in the future, such a shame really.
Easily one of the best fish and chips I have ever eaten - and I have had a few in my days. Their fish has always been fresh every time I have come. The batter is perfect and not overly thick. The chips are classic thick and chunky and fried just right. The prices are higher than most fish and chips joints but - my goodness - you do get a very large serving of fish! Service is fast and efficient. Most of the diners are regulars and local. A good sign of good food. By the way - they are closed for the last two weeks of August for staff holidays. Update: 7 Oct 2022: haven't been back for 3 years because of C-19. A change of ownership and it tastes even better. I love their chunky potato chips perfectly cooked with the crisp outside and piping hot potato inside. That piece of fried Skate is 16 inches long and every inch super delicious!
I had the grilled lemon sole - it was absolutely the most tasty fish I'd ever had. A real melt in the mouth experience to be savoured to the last mouthful. The service was friendly a d helpful and the price was reasonable. Definitely worth going.
This is an absolute gem, a wonderful recommendation has brought me to this great Fish and Chips restaurant. The service is brilliant, and food is equally brilliant. Highly recommend Keo beer and black spiced haddock.
