One of the best experience of car rent. First time we rent car in January- I booked Mercedes A class or similar , but when we arrived they give us Audi q3 diesel and it was like a miracle. Second be time we rent car in February and it was so easy to extend car far from rental office just with email. All the times staff was perfect in doing their service. I express my deep gratitude to the administration for their attitude regarding the lease when we had to face the war in our country. To be objective I can say about only one inconvenience- very expensive deposit for cars, but for additional insurance it down 10 times and after that u can be calm no matter what happens to the car, because your maximum payment, even in the event of a severe accident, will not exceed 70 euros. And taking into account the narrow streets and possible exits from the roads to the beaches, it is better not to skimp on an additional 200-300 euros for rent which, by the way, is one of the lowest with a fairly high quality and technical condition of the cars themselves. For example, in Dubai, a BMW wheel scratched on a curb cost 150 euros and 500 euros for a bumper torn off in a parking lot. So I recommend Sixt wholeheartedly
Rented a car at this location for 4 days last October. The check out and return were swift and the services were commendable. There were some small scratches on the car when taken out. Please take time and document those imperfections before driving off the rental car lot. When returning the car, make sure with the rental staff that you are not responsible for those. For American drivers, no need to get a international driver’s license. Your American driver’s license is just fine.
Terrible customer service. Firstly, the customer service team at the airport kiosk were busy chatting to customers. When there is traffic and footfall with customers waiting, perhaps its ok to talk about philosophies of life another time. Secondly, the car I booked and paid extra for wasn't ready on time. I am still waiting for it as I write this message, and not sure how long it would take. Not happy overall
Great service. All the staff is very nice and speaking English, renting a car took us half an hour and returning – only 10 minutes. No international driving license was needed heard that it can be a problem if you have russian national license, but it was enough. The car itself was completely okay and the price is great for overall quality and service. It isn't easy to find the parking when you renting a car, but returning it was really easy, Google maps directly leads you to the "car rental parking".
Electric car for very fair price, Peugeot 208 for 28 EUR a day ex. VAT. Intake: go to desk at airport first and only then pick up the car. Friendly personal gives relevant instructions. Collecting the car was fast and friendly. No hidden costs , no hidden extras
Great experience in general, though communication before departure and before return could be better, like a simple email with precise informations. But still, it was great, the car was perfect and the return went totally smoothly thanks to Evangelina sorry if I misspelled !
The SIXT office is located inside the arrivals hall of terminal between exits 3 and 4. The staff was cheerful and they checked in the rented car fast and rigorous. The very good point is that the office is 24/7 open and they do not charge extra fee if you collect the car very early in the morning or overnight. The SIXT parking is located outside the terminal arrivals' hall to the car rental B area of airport.
My trip with a rather new Audi Q3 was uneventful and without problems, but when we gave back our car the agent went to the front left corner and checked a very specific part on the bottom of the car as if he knew that there was a scratch. And surprise surprise he found what he was looking for and filed a damage claim. It was impossible to see and very strange that the agent only checked the bottom of the car on the front left. I am convinced these guys knew there was a scratch and it is a way how they make additional income. For sure that damage will not get fixed and most likely not marked as a previous damage either so they can continue to charge more customers for the same damage. I will definitely not use Sixt in Greece again. And if you do, I would strongly recommend you to very carefully check the car incl. the bottom and record everything with video.
The lady was very nice and welcoming but I Rented a certain car , at the arrival they said it was not available . The say the “upgrade” me by giving me a small cabrio . At the end , I had a small cabrio I don’t need a cabrio I needed a more spacious car and the car was kind of old. I m not taking SIXT athenes again. Never happened with Avis .
I was UNKNOWINGLY CHARGED 47.08 Euros for "TG - Tyre and Windscreen Coverage" which I did not ask for. The staff at Sixt Car Rental @ Athens International Airport is friendly and pleasant. However, my most recent rental experience left me UTTERLY PERPLEXED!!! Upon my arrival, I declined: 1 pre-paying for fuel, 2 additional insurance, and 3 other additional charges and coverages. And when my credit card was tapped, I unknowingly accepted the charge of “47.08 Euros” thinking I was simply confirming my 3-day rental of “45.76 Euros” — these amounts looked similar, so my mistake, and I’m not denying it. But when I emailed Customer Service 3 days later, they claimed I ‘opted’ and ’suggested’ —> these are the exact words they used — which are COMPLETELY UNTRUE for "TG - Tyre and Windscreen Coverage”. Oddly, that was the first time the words of: "TG - Tyre and Windscreen Coverage" were uttered to me — 3 days after I picked up the car rental. Now, what I do clearly recall, was the agent at the counter trying to explain something to me in both Greek and English, of which I replied to her 5-6 times that I did not understand what she was saying to me. I even requested that Customer Service pull the video from the counter of that day, where they can clearly see I was shaking my head, telling the agent at the counter I had no clue what she was saying 5-6 times!!!, and, I even cupped my ears with hands to hear clearer, reaching between the glass partitions at the counter, and even under the glass partitions to try and understand what the agent was saying to me. The agent clearly knew I was having a hard time understanding, as I asked her to repeat herself several times, having no clue what she was trying to explain to me in both Greek and English — NO CLUE. And knowing fully aware I was not understanding, the agent at the counter still charged me 47.08 Euros for "TG - Tyre and Windscreen Coverage” — a coverage THAT I DID NOT ASK FOR. This is TOTALLY AN INAPPROPRIATE BUSINESS PRACTICE. Should the agent have done a poor job in explaining herself in Greek and English, that is on her, and Sixt Car Rental @ Athens International Airport. The idea of making a client pay for something they did not ask for is completely absurd. All this, after having rented a car from the same location in October 2022 at a cost of 479.83 Euros without any issue. I will not rent from Sixt Car Rental @ Athens International Airport again. I advise you think twice before you do. And if you do, make sure that they properly EXPLAIN ALL CHARGES to you. ALL. CHARGES. MUST. BE. PROPERLY. EXPLAINED.
