Great place for a walk. Have membership as the gardens differ week to week. Plenty of paths that are suitable for pushing buggies around, although some aren't after wet weather. Cafe's are generally good, although cakes can be hit and miss on busy days. As a new parent some parents and baby would be nice as the spaces can be a little tight trying to get baby out.

Oh this is a treasure. Make sure that you allow a full day out and choose good weather. My time was limited to a rather grey and damp day but I will be sure to return. Time is needed to appreciate and admire the professional presentation and careful attention to detail of what must be one of the best in the country. The restaurant was good with an excellent choice from light snacks to the more substantial and was served by pleasant friendly staff. Just one small point , maybe my confusion but I didn’t see any publicity about the possible hire of a buggy .When I return on my next visit to England - ( and The Hillier Garden is on top of my list ) I will make sure that I manage to get around more with that so useful aid to those of us who love our gardens but find it difficult to get around without a bit of assistance. Loved it even without the kindness of the weather ! A heaven for gardener and plantsman alike , a peaceful area to visit when you feel the need to be alone and also a day out to introduce your family to the joys of an important part our British heritage.

Absolutely amazing! The scenery is to die for and great fun for kids with a massive tree house, numerous parks and also the occasional pond dipping! Whether you bring your own picnic, or eat at their restaurant definitely make a stop at Hilliers this holiday!

Always assured of a wonderful tasty lunch. Innovative and unusual menu, with plenty of traditional recipes as well. Well cooked and a delight to eat. Comfortable surroundings and obliging staff.

A beautiful garden and arboretum. Plenty of hard paving for the times when it had been raining and large grass areas when not. A wonderful collection of outdoor sculptures and other plants.
