Excellent ,changing window displays. Incredible Friendly service and knowledge. Brilliant for Railways, Quarrys, Welsh - local history. New area guides ,for visitors / tourist information. Welsh language DVDs & CDs A perfect place to explore especially if you visit us by Ffestiniog railway. Please pop in and spend. A book can last hundreds of years. What an investment.
This is such a lovely shop with a more than helpful and friendly staff. I rang from Cardiff as I was looking for a book on Blaenau Ffestiniog for my Taid. The lady that I spoke to made an excellent recommendation, kept the book to one side for me and posted it within the same day. It arrived very well wrapped and is a beautiful book. Posted me a copy of the Macmillan Latin-English dictionary with which I am delighted. I am a north-eastern boy but my Latin master was from Aberystwyth, fluent in Welsh and we used this book. A real find, masses of books, some new but mostly second hand and antiquarian. Large selection of Welsh langauge and Welsh interest. Next time I need to bring more money!
This bookshop is an absolute treasure of Blaenau Ffestiniog and somewhere I visited often when I lived in Tanygrisiau. Not only does it have a great selection of books, but it's friendly and hosts charming readings from local authors. I particularly liked checking in to see if they had any second-hand Folio Society volumes on offer—of which a great many now populate my collection. If you're in Blaenau, it would be a mistake not to visit.
Always friendly, and a good selection of 100's of books - new and 2ndhand; even more if you can read Welsh!
Charming old fashioned book shop. A literal house full of books. A place for browsing. A few new, mostly used, some antiquarian. Well worth an hour of your time.
Incredibly knowledgeable owner. I can embarrass her by saying so because she will never read this post. She is deep into books.
