A nice little castle with an army museum inside. The ticket was not expensive, only £6. Loved being able to dress up in army hats and jackets for fun.

The Castle and surrounding buildings are interesting, but the views from the only accessible ramparts are less inspiring. If you like military history there is a museum for a modest entry price.
Impromptu visit to Shrewsbury Castle and the Regimental Museum. Great displays, very informative. Please note there are steep and old stairs which may be unsuitable for some people.
From a shrewsbury resident, I last visited the Castle in 1992, it was lovely going back to see, new additions on display and how well it is looked after & seeing the items restored. We even attended a talk on the history of weapons over the centuries & how they have changed. By a very nice knowledgeable volunteer. Would definitely recommend. A big.. Thank you to all who volunteer at the Castle.
