Shree Adhya shakti Mataji temple

About

Every sunday bhajans at temple from 3.00pm to 5.30 by mahaprasad.

Story

Inspired by our Mother, Gulabben Gangji Maicha, in 1970 celebrating, Navratri with Garba and Dandiya Raas at her residence in Southall. The event was so popular that within a couple of days the back garden was too small.

A suitable hall, The New Hall, located on the High Street, Southall was found and thus the beginning of “Navratri Garba”. Everyone, irrelevant of Cast, Creed or Background was welcome. The Navratri celebrations took place in various locations including Southall, Hayes and Perivale until finally moving to the Arya Samaj, Argyle Road in 1993. The Arya Samaj became a place for Navratri Celebrations for years.

The funds and donations collected were distributed to other Charities in the aid of free food distribution, BBC children in need, Blue Peter water appeal, Cry with Children, British Heart Foundation, Animal sanctuaries, free medicines to the poor, National Asthma Campaign, Mental Health Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Tuberous Sclerosis Asso. British Red Cross, British Diabetics Asso. Etc. Donations were made in UK and overseas where help was required.

After the earthquake in Kutch, where our services and donations helped several hundred, we became a registered charity. This was the starting point and we have not looked back ever since. We committed ourselves to helping out wherever we could and raised funds to various disasters. This was the time when we decided to open a Mataji temple so that people from all walks of life could benefit from it, meet and make friends, take part in festival celebrations, participate in prayers and Havans and enjoy free activities and food from time to time.

Whilst our charity work continues, we are looking to extend the temple. The temple alone will be a sanctuary where people will achieve piece tranquillity and happiness. There will be an opportunity for people to learn, meet other people and socialise.

What you can do for us

There is a saying -There is no better donation than feeding a soul.

By your donations and in any help to the Mandir, you will obtain blessings in disguise. For our personal reasons, we ask Mataji for good fortune and well-being. You can come and pray at the Mandir every day of your life and gain total fulfilment. You could do Mataji’s darshan, pray, bhajans etc throughout the year, and there will be Chandi Path Havans and prayers for the prosperity for mankind as a whole from time to time.

The temple will also contain a library with books of Vedas, Purans, Upanishads, Bhajans and a vast range of other interesting books for the benefit of visitors and have a reading room. It is also hoped that there will be language classes in Gujarati, Hindi and Sanskrit for children as well as adults and English for adults and children who wish to participate.

There are too many distractions in the outside world, so we encourage parents to bring their children, just so our traditions can carry on through generations to come. These social gatherings are very important not only for reasons mentioned above but for the up keep of our old values and traditions, learning from the various cultural activities and programmes. We will organize talks on subjects such high blood pressure, diabetics, first aid etc and also hold bhajans, show films, entertain and serve meals on a regular basis.

The Mandir will be a sanctuary where people can come to try to solve their problems and/or share their views and have pleasant, stimulating and friendly debates/discussions. Lonely elderly people can come for their meals as an alternative to having meals on wheels. The temple will have a temporary guest room for people from overseas to stay if they have nowhere else to stay. The temple will also be publishing a quarterly newspaper, for the benefit of members both in UK and overseas.

You can help us by donating money, by becoming a volunteer, both for office administration, collection of charitable donations and spreading the word about our mission. A lot of help is needed, especially at this stage so please come forward and give generously. Once the temple is set up, the committee will continue to do charitable work for the needy and in the event of a natural disaster, would be able to assist as done during the earthquake in Kutch.

Your kindness is appreciated. Thank you.

Mission

To extend the temple and make such a holy place so every devotee can get blessing for Ambe Maa.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I cannot truly put into words my experience there. Simply because there are no adequate words! Come and feel for yourself.
It's a small temple and closest to west drayton. We'll maintained and the priest Amarnath is very kind and helpful with special poojas.
Very well maintained and managed temple. Special attention being paid at social distancing at this difficult time. Good measures in place. Feel safe visiting it.
Very nice temple in Uxbridge, clean, organised and kind. Puja Ceremonies are well organised.
