When it comes to halal fish and chips, this place is my GO-TO! I recently indulged in their Haddock and Chips, ordered with a side of their delectable Battered Sausage, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The haddock was perfectly flaky and moist, with a crispy, golden-brown batter that added just the right amount of crunch. The chips were a dream—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was an absolute delight! The portion sizes are quite generous, so I recommend sharing if you’re dining with others. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and shared that their fish is delivered fresh each morning, which truly shines through in both the taste and quality. I also must add how clean the restaurant is thats a big thing I look out for and the restaurant was spotless! If you’re in the mood for some mouthwatering halal fish and chips, this spot is a must-visit. It’s a taste sensation you won’t want to miss! Highly recommended!
Reason for low star review is for the price, the portion of cod is very small. £16 for cod and chips and drink. Also very annoyed as I paid cash and got a fake £2 back. Spoke to my brother who also bought something there as we were leaving, and he was given a fake 20p. Will report further as necessary.Food: 3/5
Atmosphere is wonderful, available electric outlet, nice decorations, clean toilets, nice staff, good prices. Maybe it’s because of the cheap price but food quality was a bit less than expected. But I loved the sauces. Regarding the service: I asked for glass of coke, they served me a can of coke. I tried their guest WiFi many times, didn’t work. Thank you anyways.
The fish and chips were nothing out of the ordinary but was executed well in that the batter was crispy and the fish inside was not dry. Plentiful chips are given per serving We saw a lot delivery drivers come and go during our meal there. This indicates that the business is well liked by the community! And understandably so as it is a great price to value purchase! Will return when in the Hackney borough again!
Solid cod fish and chips Nice flavor, the batter isn’t too heavy and the oil seems relatively clean, the chips are very nice.Food: 4/5
Really good, fresh and tasty fish and chips! Dined in for dinner and service was quick and attentive. Haddock was perfectly fried, crispy batter and moist fish. Not too greasy. Chips were really good as well. All our food was brought to the table served hot. Definitely recommend stopping in for a bite!
Have been in the area for years and it was my first time trying out the fish and chips there, it’s real good - fresh haddock and crispy batter, good chips. Fish is cooked to order. Really friendly service… good value for money, will definitely be back again!Food: 5/5
The perfect fish and chips place!! very friendly staff as well which made the experience so much better :Food: 5/5
We walked in and luckily there was a table ready for us to sit straight away at. The decor has a vintage London vibe do it and is bright and cosy. We had some starters; home made thai fish cake, jalapeno flamers and calamari rings. The fish cake definitely tasted home made and not from the packet. This is really tasty, lots of flavour and a bit creamy not forgetting the crumbly texture too. Likewise, the calamari was well fried and had a great crunch to them when biting into it. The accompanied sauce and lemon added another layer of taste to it. The jalapeno flamers is a flavourful snack with cheese. For the mains, we had a large cod with chips along with mushy peas, baked beans and tartare sauce. Once I had drenched my chips with vinegar, I tucked in. This was a really great meal and was impressed by the cod that they use for this. The mushy peas, usually not a fan, was satisfying along with the baked beans. The chips were fantastic to go alongside the fish. Overall, this is a great place to visit to not just get your fish and chips fix, but to enjoy a great meal out. I look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu.
I have eaten in numerous fish and chip shops throughout the UK and Ireland and I honestly think that Shoreditch Fish and Chips is the best. I always get the large haddock much better than the cod! which is big enough for two people to share. The chips are always perfectly cooked, and you get a decent portion. The staff are always friendly too. Highly recommend!
