Expensive and average, I love my fish and chips, and this was all but average, you get an average sized piece of cod & chips for £9.70. It was all cooked well, but the fish was nothing special and same goes for the batter, light but nothing to write home about. For a fiver this would be a good fish and chips, but for the price I was expecting a lot more. The chicken and chips is a little bit better value, and nice tasting. would recommend for people who do not care about value for money!
Have to say costs a fortune about £14 for fish and chips sit down but the food is amazing. Was probably the best fish and chips i have ever had - its very expensive i would love to say worth the money but i think £14 is a lot for fish and chips that cost around £3 to make. it snot a plush restaurant either - the staff are really nice though.
If you're looking for a decent traditional fish & chip shop around here then this comes highly recommended! The establishment has two parts, the traditional fish shop downstairs and a fully licensed restaurant upstairs. The menu is more or less the same but the restaurant charges more for the dining experience. The menu is comprehensive, serving not only fish and chips but also pies, sausages, scampi and the usual accompaniments such as mushy peas, curry sauce, beans etc. Prices are very reasonable considering its location so definitely worth a visit!
Proper fish bar. Great service, great product. Chips that taste like chips 'used to, back in the day' and the same with the fish. The homemade fish cakes are also excellent as is the curry sauce.
Tried the fish and chips a few years ago when my office first moved around the corner and was terribly disapointed in both the portion size, quality and taste it was just a soggy mess and charged at a big premium I guess they figure everyone who works nearby are rich bankers so why not? Well I walk past the place everyday and saw they offer breakfast, fancy a bacon roll I thought so why not give them another go... well after waiting with no response for 2mins I was greeted with "what do you want?" a bacon roll said I , his response " well we are pretty busy so its gonna be a while " charming, " how longs a while?" I asked " I dunno mate" was the response... out the door I went
Good take-away fish n chips but didn't realise it was going to cost £9:30, can't afford to go there again.
Fleeced £3.75 for stone cold chips and home-made awful fishcake.
The fish wasn't fresh, the batter stodgy and the chips soggy. Yuck!
Excellent Fish & Chips.
