Very family friendly. My children were thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The chef was very friendly and entertaining. We have had a lot of food!!! Marked 1 star down as the waiter at the start could have been more attentive. But once a few more staffs had started, they have shown the Shogun that I have always known. I was very much enjoyed the sashimi, which I have to ask for the main menu twice!!! Otherwise, everything else was fabulous. Will go back again
Absolutely fantastic food cooked right in front of you.. The chef was amazing, talented, funny and a real good cook. Highly recommended for all walks of life. You will not be disappointed. He made today a very good Father's Day. Thank you all.
Sushi was fabulous loved it but I think the tepenyanki wasn't tasty as it lacked seasoing and this is the second I've been. Its great for large group not for date as way too much noise but good experience for anyone willing to try.
Delicious sushi! Definitely one of my favorite places in Birmingham. When we arrived, we were a little disappointed that the sushi belt was not working. Justin, the chef behind the bar, asked if we wanted to leave it up to him to choose our food and we said yes. We were NOT disappointed! We honesttly had one of the best meals we've had in a while! The sushi was great quality and the service was fast and friendly. Would 100% recommend.
Great place to eat, attending a friends birthday meal here last week and had the best time. Our chef & waitress were amazing
We had a very nice meal out with work colleagues, the chef was funny and friendly, the food was fairly tasty. We had a lot of fun.
One of my favourite restaurants in Birmingham. Meats are fresh and food is delicious. I love the teppanyaki. The chefs are so entertaining. Very good service and good value for money.
The nigiri and maki sushi was beautifully presented and tasted beautiful, on the side was wasabi and ginger to compliment and refresh the palate for the next morsal. Fried shimp was exceptional, light and crispy with sauce on the side to give it a kick and make the palate dance. The chicken teriyaki was nice and sweet. The squid rings was abit oily which wasn't a problem for me. Now the customer service, what can I say, The staff were very polite and attentive, all welcoming with a smile on their faces, the chef also asked if everything was okay and was there anything else we wanted which left a good impression. A PLACE I WILL COME AGAIN TO NO DOUBT.
When I arrived no one greeted me as they were looking down at phones. In the end the staff member stood there so long while she sent a text message obviously personal that the Chef took me to my seat. Most of the staff are Pilipino. Waitress was pleasant. Really hot inside the restaurant with no ventilation, so the smell of old cooked food, permeated the restaurant. Music tacky and too loud with a weird sing along happening from staff. I ordered sashimi and teppanyaki with prawns, with my heart in my throat. Large amounts of butter on chef’s preparation tray. Sashimi looks ok. Tasted fine. It is the only reason I have not given a one star. I made sure I thanked the senior chef. Plate sat there for ages after I had finished. Next the Teppanyaki prawns. Chef burned the garlic and when I protested he admitted he had. I waited for a reset. Second time was better. He cooked the Mange Tout really badly and it was swimming in oil and burnt. I cancelled. Very grumpy. Waiting ages for the bill. Waitress arguing with me about oily mess in front of me. I thanked the senior chef for the sashimi. Would never go back and would not recommend.
Stumbled across this place by accident and was delighted. Chefs are brilliantly entertaining, food delicious. We had set meals plus platters of shushi and sushimi. The table arrangements are very sociable too and you end up feeling like lots a party. The sake probably help with that
