My carbonara dish was beautiful with the prawns and crab! Definitely recommend. I had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was lovely! The place was quite busy and the staff looked miserable to be honest...
Very tasty lovely food staff were also very welcoming and helpful xx
Fantastic food amazing quality and flavours are unbelievable definitely worth a visit
Visited here last night. We tried the pies from the Tuesday special menu. Wow the pies were delicious and were very good value, a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I would totally recommend and we will be going back to sample the other pies on offer. We were served quickly and Charlotte was lovely, she was so bubbly and very efficient,.
We had a table of 11 booked. It was an extremely busy Saturday. But the food, & quality of service was impeccable! The food was definitely the star of the show though. But honestly, the staff & Alex management can’t do enough for You. Considering how busy they are. Will definitely be back several times.
We had a brilliant meal here and great value too; 2 for £15. I had the vegetarian lasagna with salad and garlic bread and my other half ordered the steak and ale pie with chips. Portion size was very generous!!!! Highly recommend the onion rings!!
Lovely food as always, not cheap but not terribly expensive. Had mini fish and chips and the steak and ale pie from the 2 for £15 menu. Filling but managed to make room for dessert. Really nice food will definitely return.
Food good and plenty of it. Staff very friendly
Leave a 0 if I could just sat there for 40 minutes on a Sunday afternoon waiting to be served and when we asked why she said it was our fault because we put the menus in the “tombstone” she said and they thought they’d already done our order and blamed us. She even had the cheek to tell us the classic “we all make mistakes” . I work 6 days a week in retail and when I make a mistake I have to own up to it so why is it that your staff are so superior they do not? She even had the cheek to tell us to our faces “I can’t be arsed”. I’ve never been to a pub and been spoken to like this in all my life and was shocked it was my local and first choice pub. Your staff are very unprofessional and clearly need more training, particularly in speaking to customers and basic people skills. I hope it stays fine for the shoal hill tavern as clearly they don’t need our money we would have spent there and have staff who “can’t be arsed” do their job and take responsibility. I hope this girl knows she is very rude and we certainly will never set foot in your business again. It’s clear you don’t need the money in these times of trouble. I’ll stick to the barnes in future who are glad of our money. Poor service run by rough inadequate staff and I will not be spoke to like this clearly they’ve got no business skills. Be weary of booking a special occasion here.
Excellent as always! This place makes the best lamb shank in Staffordshire! My partner and I com here every other Sunday and we cannot fault it. Great service and everything is reasonably priced.
