This is a very small museum but it is packed with a diverse range of exhibits so there should be something to interest everyone.  They cater particularly well for children with suitcases filled with kid's activities and equipment for youngsters to borrow and use around the museum.

A lovely gallery, with a mix of exhibits. Since it's refurbishment, it looks better than it used to, but has replaced a lot of paintings with some taxidermy and crafted objet d'art. Not as nice as the Laing Art Gallery in neighbouring Newcastle, but still good for a short visit.
