Amazing local pub! Rustic, spacious and welcoming. The menu is smart with many vegetarian and vegan options. It looks like mostly food is made from the scratch - they even bake their own sourdough. I tried veggie burger and it was very tasty a bit lacked seasoning which can be easily fixed, the bun was fantastic and onion/potatoes hand cut. The list of wines and drinks is great and you will find some new tastes and producers not the typical pub selection only.
Always a pleasure to visit and enjoy a meal in the Ship. We went on Valentine's and the food was outstanding. Beautifully presented extremely tasty and as always, a lovely atmosphere. Even by their standards it was a great meal. Many thanks.

Great looking pub. All the staff were helpful, professional and friendly. The food WAS REALLY good. My confit of duck with kale and fondant potatoes was lush as was my starter of melted brie in rosemary infused breadcrumbs served with a chorizo and tomato chutney was very moreish. Unfortunately I was too full for a pudding but the ones coming out of the kitchen looked very tasty. Reasonably priced especially considering the quality. A lovely evening all round. I will definitely be going back there.

Been to the Ship Inn Ugborough many times, good welcome and attention by Paul and staff. Had mussels to start, excellent, then the lamb shank, lamb shank was ok but the vegetables & fondant potatoes seemed like they had been re-warmed, not so good.
Delightful staff and delicious food - The Ship Inn in Ugborough is absolutely fantastic and the food is of exquisite quality. Staff are lovely and welcoming and dogs are allowed.
Really great food and atmosphere, decor was relaxed, modern and felt clean. Lovely lady who served us and built up the fire as soon as we arrived. We arrived before six and although there was a limited menu as it was early, there was still lots of choice. We both had sausage and mash one gluten free and they were both delicious. Very tasty gravy maybe just a little rich and loads of veg to go with it. Would really recommend. Thank you! My only thought is that the toilet decor needs a little updating to match the quality elsewhere!
Service outstanding, menu extensive, and a good variety, well presented hot and full of flavour. And the prices are competitive.
