Lovely open park which is great for walking dogs. Small play area at the one end of the park by old rectory farm and some animals you are able to see for free. If you take a short walk around 10-15 mins to the other side of the park, you will see the airport and a viewing area for planes. Free car parking by old rectory farm and also a nice flat path/trail that is suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Overall a lovely place for a walk!
Beautiful huge park, fantastic viewing area for Birmingham airport, literally at the end of the runway where the planes are taking off soaring just a few hundred feet above your head!nThere's a stream runs through the middle with an abundance of wildlife and at the far end a small children's farm, with pigs, cattle, donkeys and horses to name but a few.nThere's a children's play area, a tea room, selling lovely cakes, cookies, hot and cold food and drinks, ice creams etcnBest of all parking is free, the farm is free too!nWe spent a lovely four hours wandering around but is definitely worth a day out to explore the wooded paths that lead off in all directions.nExcellent!
Lovely park, very big, lots of signs to show you where to go, has a car park. Saw some cows, sheep and donkeys. Nice area to walk around with lots of places to sit for a picnic, plenty of buses in the area. A good area for doing some plane spotting. Has a small stream.
A really nice park to visit.nnOverall it has good wheelchair access but not into the playground unfortunately.nThe best wheelchair entrance is at the far side of the car park with a small ramp.nThe farm has chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, cows, donkeys, ponies and sheep.n Only assistance/ guide dogs allowed into the gated farm section. Theres a big fenced paddock where the larger animals go out to graze so if you have your dog you can still see some of the animals when they are out.nThere’s a little stream running through the park which my dog loves to jump in to cool off.nnIt’s a decent walk from the main car park up to watch the planes plus it’s fully wheelchair accessible via decent paths through the park. You can park outside other entrances but not all are wheelchair accessible. There are benches to relax on while you watch the airport runway although it can get quite busy up there at times.
An enjoyable leisure activity within Birmingham that feels part of the countryside.nPlenty of walking opportunities or simply sitting down at a garden bench enjoying breakfast, a snack or a hot drink.nSmall adventure playground for the little ones and a tiny farm.nEnjoy the planes take off from the nearby airport
