I found it very difficult to review this place. Got the food from here twice and both times the owner/worker/cook was asking for more money than the listed price. The menu advertised a free drink on orders over £20, however we had to point that out to the staff "forgot" to give it to us.

The food was pretty tasty and it wasn't like any other Indian takeaway I had before. The portions are pretty small though and I am by no mean a big guy.

The service was pretty poor and the staff were rude. I probably would give this place another chance at some point in the future when I run out of places to try in Southampton. At the moment I don't want to deal with rude people, especially when I pay them money.

Didn't want to give any stars for this place, ordered twice now and both times been hour and a half late, waited for our food and then rang to say did we still want it, well yeah doh, also the delivery man was very rude didn't even spk just gave food and walked away, definitely will not be going back there again!!!!

Take ages till delivery were there. Really poor staff, after cancelling order called me "motherfu****" " "fu***** lier"

They are by far the BEST INDIAN restaurant in Southampton and it take it from us Indians. Those who have been complaining about their orders, I noticed most of your ordered items were English/American Food. What do you expect if you order Chicken Tikka Masala at Wetherspoons Pub? Same probably here. The name is Shalimar, they'll be better in Indian cuisine of course! So, try their Indian the next time. Their Chicken Vindaloo, Dal, and Biriyani is to die for! Their delivery guy is very polite and friendly even if he's a little late I don't mind cos he's so polite and apologetic about it. They've only been late once with us, but that's it. Very good value for money too! You pay so little for the large portions they give which can easily stay on for another meal if sharing between two. The quality and quantity for that price, is more than reasonable I say!

Would give no stars if possible.
Food was 40 minutes late after ‘delivery time’. The food was also cold and bland & refused fresh food to be sent. The guy on the phone was rude and didn’t want to know of any issue, assuring us that the food was ‘piping hot and nothing wrong’. 

Avoid at all costs.
