We have just had a wonderful family holiday at Seaton Hall. There were 22 of us aged between 1 and 86! and we all had a fantastic time. The rooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the owner was incredibly helpful. There is a lovely communal feel to the Court, with plenty of seating space and privacy if needed. The lawn was used well by the children who loved playing out : The scenery is beautiful and Staithes is such a gorgeous place to visit. We would highly recommend visiting Seaton Hall and we will definitely be back again!
Just stayed with a party of 20 for my 60th birthday. It was amazing .We had a great time - from my parents who are 92 & 90 years old to my great nephews and niece, it was ideal. We stayed in the hall, the cottage and the annexe. William, the owner, was very welcoming and accommodating allowing us to move furniture to make easier access for my parents. The facilities for cooking were great with plenty of big pots and pans, glasses of all shapes and sizes etc. The beds were comfortable and there is lots of room in and out to relax and have fun.
Made very welcome with cake, wine and a bottle of milk even.. Who does that? The stay in Seaton Hall was fabulous. There was nothing we needed.. Everything was catered for. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds. The grounds were beautiful. Its so peaceful. Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5
Great place for a large group booking. Excellent accommodation, lovely views. Walk into Staithes ok for the fit. Not possible to take elderly or infirm down to the harbour by car and steep hill back up, but beautiful village. Cafe at the hall is very handy if you don't fancy cooking! The rooms in the separate house could do with a bit of attention. Otherwise great, we all had a great long weekend.
We have just returned from a week-long stay at Seaton Hall. William is such a lovely man and did everything he could to accommodate all of our requests. We hired all three buildings for the weekend and then just had the Court and Cottage for the rest of the week. The accommodation was perfect for our family. There was the perfect amount of space for our group of 17 and 2 dogs!. We loved that we could all sit together for dinner in the Court but then those who wanted some more peace and quiet from the main house could retreat to the quieter Cottage or Hall. The Hall isn't newly renovated like the other two buildings but for us this just added to it's charm. We loved it's quirky Georgian décor and it really felt like you were stepping into a piece of history. Please don't change it, we loved it! As far as amenities go, there's a Co-op within a 5 minute walk and the centre of Staithes is about 15 minutes. A fantastic base and perfect for a group getaway. This may just become our regular family cottage now! Thank you so much for letting us stay!
Could be so good!! What a pity so little care is taken for the comfort of the guests. The maintenance of the properties is poor. During our week's stay 2 of the toilets stopped working, the boiler in one property broke and the dishwasher leaked. Repairs were done but still, a couple of days without sufficient toilets and hot water is not acceptable. Beware the overspill bedrooms in the main building. They are dreadful!!!! Not very clean, cold, crowded with big old furniture, creaky, uncomfortable beds and only one double plug socket in the room. The bathrooms are no better. A miserable experience. I would not have stayed if it had not been a big family holiday.
Dropped in to cafe for a snack. Must be the best sausage bun I have had for years. Same again next time please.
Booked at Seaton Hall for a hen do weekend. From start to finish it was great. William looked after all my queries and was even there to great us on arrival. The cottage had everything we needed and was such a fabulous place for a girlie weekend away. Need to think of another reason to come back. Thank you all.
A lot of character, interesting rooms. Really comfortable beds. One section of house had no heating on, fortunately wood burner good in the evening but cold in the mornings. Some bathrooms without soap. No big coffee makers. Gardens would be lovely in summmer.
Well located for Whitby and the coast to the North. Homely quirky feel to our stay. Seaton cottage. Nice touch of welcome home made cake and wine on arrival. There is also a public path past the Barn owl cafe which will take you to the local CO OP and a stroll into Staithes.
