Classic seaside cafe of yesteryear. Lovely staff, simple but good food, dine-in/outside or takeaway - amazing value for money! Fish & chips with peas twice plus a tin of drink was only £12!! Freshly prepared, no grease on the plate, piping hot and served to our table outside on a sunny day. Perfect. Parking: It’s a seaside with public beach, so when the sun shines it’s busy. Otherwise, no problem parking.

Forget the big named places. What a find. If you want good food at great prices then you can't do better than this little gem. 30 meals to choose from We had the Gammon 'n Chips, Black Pudding, Mushrooms & Mushy Peas for less than £10 <correct at time of review> Very filling, great piece of gammon, cooked perfectly. The place was spotless, & the staff were pleasant & courteous.
Ordered chips and sausage it came and the sausage looked awful so before touching it I asked if can change my order to something else had to pay for the Sausage meal and another one to replace the meal I didn’t like , woman on the till was just pure rude and kept giving dirty looks so had to speak to manager as was making me an my mum uncomfortable , my mum ordered the fish dinner and the fish wasn’t right either and they use to cook lovely fish in this cafe won’t be coming back any time soon. with prices of food would like it to be cooked nice if I’m the one paying for service.
The Seaside was recommended to us and we can see why. 2 Sunday Roast, Fish and Chips, Sausage, Egg Chips and beans with a pot of tea for 4 all under £30. If you go for the Sunday roast many people have the children one as its big enough, the adult one is a big meal. The staff are very friendly. We'll worth a visit.
Lovely cafe, very old school feeling, plated dinners like you used to get at your nans. When you order a pot of tea you get the pot of hot water to top up. Lovely decor and well worth a visit especially if you are on a budget.Food: 4/5
Stopped off here for lunch over the weekend. Food was fresh and served hot. We ate outside in the sunshine. Fantastic traditional little cafe. Will definitely be back.Food: 5/5
Not sure what’s happened? Last time we were in the portions were great and the food was fresh and homemade. Today we had cheap bought chips, greasy and sloppy fish with a teaspoon worth of cold mushy peas. The bread was slapped on a plate by the girl behind the till without gloves or tongues. The portion was really small with a sad looking bit of lettuce pretending to be side salad. Pretty much untouched. Drank our coffee and left. Such a shame as this has always been a decent place for fish & chips. But frozen chips and soggy fish isn’t worth £8.99 I did raise it with the waiting staff. She literally shrugged her shoulders and said “oh. Right”.
Lovely place! Regarding its location cheap. 3 meal + soft drinks £16,50! Like it's old style. Free car parks all over - though it can be extremely busy. Terrace option. Toilet for customers. Nice, helpful staff. I had fish and chips today, and staff recommended a curry sauce what was really delicious! Food was on the table within 10 minutes, piping hot, fresh food. Definitely visiting them again soon, and highly recommended place for a quick meal
We have been here twice now when visiting new Brighton love the maritime decor and the breakfast is absolutely spot on.Food: 5/5
