We are so lucky to have this fish and chip shop on our doorstep (despite the occasional pervading aroma of frying fish!). It truly proves to be such a godsend when I'm feeling too tired to cook or the cupboard is empty! The fish is of the highest quality (reflected in the price, not cheap) as indeed is the rest of the diverse menu on offer and the chips are always piping hot and non-greasy to the touch and taste. The only disappointment is the fishcakes, which look grey and gooey and taste the same! Not a whiff of fish to be had and the potato is an odd consistency - more akin to wallpaper paste. Avoid these completely... there are so many better options to choose. The service is fast, friendly and efficient, and the food well packaged for carrying out. We loved the cardboard boxes used until recently... please could they come back (as long as they don't push up the price). This may not be the cheapest F&C outlet around, but I doubt you can get better quality at less cost. Well worth a visit.

Appears to be a chain with another in the area. Accidentally managed to visit both in a two week period thinking they were the same. . . Both had the SMALLEST portion of "large" chips I've ever seen. Chips were nothing special, but not terrible. However, a large chips should be enough for two people and this just wasn't. I asked the young guy serving it up if it was a large chips - he just looked a little embarrassed (like they get that question a lot) and said "yeah". Will not be going back to either this one or the other one of the same name. For that price, they can afford to give you some more chips!! Stingy. Really hope there are other options in the area. Give the people what they want! They want decent portion sizes for the money.
