It's hard to describe how I felt when visiting this museum. 112 years ago, there was this huge magnificent ship. I was in awe of the services provided on board. The feeling of sadness when when i was looking at the photos of some of the passengers, those on duty during that fateful voyage, photos of the survivors. And upon listening to the interviews with the survivors. Tragedy of Titanic. Three quarters of the crew members were from Southampton.

Please have enough time at your hands when you go visiting. If you want to walk through it's just 30 minutes. If you want to internalise what's on display, so thoughtfully put, please keep aside at least three hours. Each moment there is worth it. The museum offers an opportunity to understand current England from a historic perspective. The war, the strikes, the human cost, power struggle, et all. Do not miss it if you are around

I recently visited the Seaview Museum in Southampton, which was conveniently located near my hotel. On my way to the museum, I strolled through Watts Park and came across the Southampton Cenotaph, a First World War memorial designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. When i arrived at the museum, I was expecting a traditional English architectural building, but the museum's modern design surprised me. There weren't many visitors, likely because it was a weekday. The Titanic exhibition was particularly impressive and well-presented. I recommend completing the full circuit, as some visitors miss the second half. The exhibition effectively brings the Titanic story to life by sharing the personal stories of individuals, highlighting the tragic loss of many lives, particularly among the crew who were residents of Southampton. There are also moving oral accounts from survivors. One of the highlights for me was the audio re-enactment of parts of the inquiry following the disaster, played in an old courtroom—appropriate since the museum is housed in the former courthouse. Besides the Titanic exhibition, the museum offers a quick overview of Southampton's history from Roman times and beyond, featuring artifacts from various archaeological finds. I spent at least a couple of hours exploring the museum and found it to be a deeply engaging experience.

I have a Titanic mad son so when my husband was at a funeral I took our children to visit here. I'm so glad we did. Such an amazing exhibition, learning about the people who lived in Southampton who then went to work on the Titanic. You can see original artifacts from the Titanic including a watch. There are interactive parts of the exhibition where you can steer the Titanic, send Morse Code and even fuel her! The staff were all amazing and helpful, there was good disabled access for my son in his disabled buggy and we had some yummy food in the cafe. This is a definitely a must for any Titanic fan!
It was really a nice experience for me and my family. We could relate to some of the displays as we had watched the Titanic movie. The public needs to keep on offering condolences to southampton, especially for visitors/foreigners like us. It was really emotional.
We had a great day here with the family. I was born in Southampton and was keen to see the history of all the local people who lost their lives when Titanic sunk. It was a very moving experience and well worth the ticket price. Great idea to go back for free within the year as so much to see and learn from the displays.
