We took a school trip for the 'Drama in the woods'! What a hidden gem right near I live and never knew about it in all these years! It is an amazing woods, with lots to fo for children including climbing the trees. Surely you would need wellies as the ground can be slushy even after days after the rains. Restrooms: There are clean restrooms
Spent weekend with our course team, nicely maintained facilities. Enjoyed the surroundings and natural environment
Like any other scout hut. There are only two issues I'd like to highlight, one being the showers are outside and out of the way from the rooms. The other being the shower curtains were stained and seemed unsanitary. Actually, one more, the vending machine is broken. Otherwise, it's a nice place to kip.
This is an amazing facility embedded within the suburbs of North London. Truly when you're on site it feels as though you're in the countryside surrounded by fields and woodland - which the scouts seem to do their best to cut down in order to build campfires. There's space for many groups to camp, several decent size halls and even a climbing wall. It's quite something. Dog-friendliness: No dogs allowed. It's not a public park!
Great little 8 acre site. Very close to tube network and lovely, friendly Warden
It's what you expect for a green campsite in a big capital city. It's not huge, it's not fancy but the owners clearly make an effort and everyone who was working there was lovely. Nonetheless it fit many Explorers during Monopoly Run 2023, even if it had rained severely and caused a good few puddles and boggy areas to camp on. Playground: None. Restrooms: Separate male/female in a single block. Good, industrial and well maintained despite the absolute mess that will inevitably be made by the muddy boots. Showers available also. Dog-friendliness: Friendly as far as I know, it's a campsite, just pick up after it. Picnic area: Technically areas, large greens for camping can be used for picnics but no set area for them.
What a lovely bunch you all are, the kids love it thanks to you all
We, as a scout group used this place as a base for 3 days to explore London. It was perfectly situated for that purpose. The building we used was warm, clean and well equiped. Everything was explained to us on our arrival by the manager, who assistrd us in sorting out the required sleeping arrangements.
Used to live next door to this place, kids always ran riot in the local area, no supervision whatsoever. Entrance is on a rat run for cars so more than once nearly saw kids running across and nearly get run over. Slightly Older ones used to stand by the gates smoking and drinking, unsupervised, in North London at gone midnight. Made complaints to scoutmaster about noise, antisocial behaviour, lack of supervision, etc but got fobbed off every time. Only a matter of time before a kid is seriously injured or worse due to the shambles this place is and the lack of care and supervision by the operators. Made living there hellish.
With a tube station just around the corner, this ia a perfect base from which to Explore London and the surrounding area. There are a number of different camping areas and unless you are close to the entrance it is very quiet. Facilities are very good. The toilet block could do with a bit of TLC, but I've known worse. Booking is straightforward and everyone I have dealt with has been very helpful.
