Their small fish and chips special has to be the best value meal deal going. Lively environment, friendly staff and food and drink which couldn't be improved upon. Add to that, an owner who really understands the meaning of customer service and you're pretty close to perfection. Helmsley itself is no slouch either. Have a long walk around the area, catch a film or a play at the arts centre and most definitely eat at Scott's

Lovely pla(I)CE just off the market square. Very attentive staff, gorgeous fish and crisp chips cooked to order.
Their go to dish was too much for us, so we had the o.a.p. choice, plenty of it too.
With the fish & chips come mushy peas, tea, bread & butter, and if you've room, a choice of ice creams all in the price.
Footnote :- the tartar sauce is home made, to die for! 
If you go to Helmsley, visit Scott's, you won't be disappointed, I promise.

Very good Fish and Chips. Pleasant service and plenty of seating. There are a few tables outside. There is only one toilet.
