Another wonderful gallery with full of portraits and paintings in the heart of Edinburgh. There is a library inside which is cool. Don't miss to see the optical illusions in a picture inside the library. I really liked the balcony section which has pretty paintings and lightings. Free entry and lots of information to be harvested. A must go place if you are in to galleries. Thank you.

Excellent. Free entry too! Has a lovely cafe serving tasty lunches and afternoon teas. Lockers available (£1) to leave coats and big bags while you browse the impressive and varied collection.

My favourite gallery in town. Bp portrait award was especially amazing amongst many other great exhibitions I've saw here. Good mix of classical and contemporary

Fantastic building with one of the best entrance halls you will ever encounter. The ceiling maps all of the stars in the sky and a frieze around the gallery illustrates the great and the good from Scotland's past. The exhibitions are always excellent and many of the permanent exhibits warrant repeat visits. The cafe also happens to be one of the best in Edinburgh.

Easily worth 2 hours out of anyone's time! We had a bit of time to kill before our train and loved having a mosey around the gallery. Lockers are available for storing bags, including very large lockers (for a wheelie bag) which was very convenient. The exhibitions were fantastic and varied.
