Great car park, very scolty, and quite woodland, you can park your car there if you want, or walk your car like you would a dog in a dog park. Personally I like to walk there and stand there, I recommend doing so if you want a good way to spend a Tuesday afternoon. Note: please don't misread park as pork, 4th worst mistake of my life.
Only giving 4 stars because of the state of the road up to the carpark I don't mind paying for parking but I expect some of the money to be used for the upkeep of the road some cars could easily be damaged by the potholes ect. On the positive side the walks are great leading to spectacular views of the hills and glen's around Banchory.
Great starting point for the walk up 45 minutes to the Scolty tower
We were staying in Banchory for a few days and took a walk up to the Scolty Tower. The carpark was easy to find and, due to a broken machine which was being repaired at the time, was free to use. Some of the paths are closed due to forestry work but the main path to the tower seemed straightforward. There are a number of options once you came to the head of the forestry road and the signage was quite confusing but we got there in the end.
Road to car park pretty potholed. Could only pay for parking with an app which was a pain if your mobile was short on roaming.
The place is beautiful and easy to walk. However, you need to follow the right arrow since there are many different kinds of arrows
Nice car park with picnic tables. Slightly annoyed that you have to pay... especially since they haven't even provided rubbish bins. Nice wee surprise, at the end of September, was to find bushes full of very tasty blackberries.
Beautiful walk and beautiful view all the time
Small car park but fast turn around. Amazing walk
The parking meter is broken so you need to pay via the RingGo app. The prices on the display board are out of date - parking all day for a 7 seater vehicle is advertised as £3 but via the app it's actually £3.20. Lots of route choices once here, lots of spaces
