It’s a popular outlet with my scandi friends who would like to shop for their home treats here. There is a coffee shop with good brunch options at the top and a basement grocery store with Scandinavian treats. Coffee is as good as always, but somehow the cinnamon bun didn’t look v enticing and we needed up having some chocolates from the grocery store.
I have been here quite a few times now and enjoy the food and ambiance. The inconsistency is the quality of customer service. Sometimes the staff are friendly and helpful. Other times they do not even greet you hello or smile. It may be helpful to give customers a table number holder so the staff do not have to shout out the orders and customers do not have to keep a lookout
Lovely cafe offering a good selection of healthy Danish sandwiches as well as sweet treats. Excellent and friendly service.Food: 4/5
Cute. Love the store downstairs. The Cafe is warm and cosy. The food in itself is not exactly complex nor highly technical dare I say, just a step above Ikea level, which doesnt do justice to the Nordic gastronomy, but it's nice enough for its price point. My hotdog's low quality sausage was bland, with the mustard and ketchup the only thing giving it flavour. Still worth a visit if you from the North beyond the wall and desperately missing home.
Latest review: Have been a semi-regular customer since my first review. I love this place. The food is delicious and a good price. I love the downstairs section too. Will continue to visit. Quite easily my favourite spot in the whole of London. Scandinavian food honestly doesn’t get as much love as it deserves. It’s one of the best in the world. Would love to see more salmon. —— Old review: I was looking for some authentic Scandinavian food and I found this place. I ordered the Swedish meatballs and a salmon smørresbrød with a latte. The place was very popular and there was a long line. The staff were helpful, but I didn’t know if I had to wait in line or find a seat. It would be nice to have some signs to make it clear. The meatballs were delicious, with a nice gravy and berries. The mashed potato was smooth and creamy. The only thing I would change is the presentation, which was a bit messy. The smørresbrød was also very good, with fresh and tasty ingredients. The oat latte was smooth and flavorful. I decided to buy some groceries from downstairs, but the register was closed. There was a sign telling me to go upstairs, but I wasn’t sure if I had to join the lunch line or go to the front. I waited in the lunch line, but I think there should be a separate line for groceries, since it takes less time. The staff were friendly and polite, and the place had a nice and cozy atmosphere. I found that the prices were very reasonable as well.
Really really good open sandwiches! great balance of flavours, breads are great textures and very flavourful. I'm usually a dill hater but these sandwiches use it so perfectly it had me craving more the next day. Love cake also really delicious too!Food: 5/5
A nice place for lunch, or a coffee/snack to get you by in your day. Staff were extremely lovely and helpful in explaining all the different food options, and we definitely got to travel the world with our tastebuds! I originally came for the Pickled Herring, however these apparently go like hot cakes so the early bird gets the fish! Having said that, the Swedish meatballs were also divine, accompanied by some pickled beetroot on slice of rye bread. If you can’t get enough of their food, you can also purchase ingredients to bring the taste of Scandinavia to your door. Look out for the stairs and head down to find the hidden gems!
We just love this place. Getting a taste of Denmark when we haven't visited there for a while. Our treat when we come into London. Beautiful open sandwiches little works of art on your plate that taste as good as they look and a great shop for all your Scandinavian treats. Fabulous and fun sign up for their newsletter!. Food: 5/5
Tasty herring sandwich. Cinnamon rolls. There‘s also a kiosk downstairs with Scandinavian mostly Swedish items like chocolate, sweets, etcFood: 5/5
Nice little place to have a cup of coffee which was delicious btw and a cinnamon roll. There's a little shop with Scandinavian products downstairs but the selection isn't wide and prices are very high. 250g of brunost costs 7 pounds, that's insane. Staff was nice. Loved the Hugh Grant cushion.Food: 5/5
