Unquestionably the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to. Tucked away on Red Lion Street in Holborn, if you’re looking for a Thai place to go out and dine at in Central London this is it. Cannot fault anything here. Food was so good and the service we received from the staff was excellent. The interior is cozy and well decorated too - good ambience and family-friendly. Was a lovely experience dining here. Highly recommend trying the mango and sticky rice for afters! This is such an amazing dessert! They also do 3D printed ice cream here too - very unique! Oh and their Thai Iced Milk Tea is stunning! The chicken, beef, lamb here is Halal. They do serve alcohol here and there is also pork on the menu, but the manager confirmed that the Halal is cooked separately from non-Halal, and no cross contamination. Dietary restrictions: Halal.
One of my favorite Thai spots in London! The Pineapple Fried Rice is a must-try – delicious flavors and huge portions. Every dish I've tried is fantastic. Great location and friendly staff. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
portion size was good and the food was very flavourful! the tom yum special was not too spicy and they were really generous with the seafood. it was quiet when we went and not too boisterousFood: 5/5
Papaya salad is nice and spicy, sauce is good and makes me craved for it even now. The raw prawn is delicious, we really enjoy them all. Mango sticky rice, never disappointed me. Must have dessert!Food: 5/5
There are so many delicious foods in Holborn! Today I came to eat at Sawadika Thai, which is hidden in a small alley and is a three-minute walk from the subway station. The taste is super good, and the portion is very large! Let me share it with you! Tom Yum Goong Shrimp Soup is the best choice as a starter~ It is sour and spicy and very appetizing. There are three shrimps in total, which are super fragrant! Green papaya salad, Thai food cannot be without green papaya! Their green papaya is sweet, with some carrot strips and lettuce, which is a great combination! Charcoal grilled pork neck, this is really amazing, a large plate of pork neck, grilled and sizzling! It will also be served with a little salad to relieve the greasiness. I have to say that it is a perfect match with green papaya salad~ Thai fried chicken, a bit like the chicken version of the pork rice, but the taste of basil is not too strong~ The overall taste is spicy, especially delicious with rice! Pineapple and Prawn Rice, the guy brought us a big pineapple and we were quite puzzled, but it turned out to be full of fragrant, yellow rice, with freshly cut pineapple pieces at the bottom, mixed together it was really fragrant! There are also a few prawns, the taste will be richer! Recommended! Mango Sticky Rice, the Thai signature three-color sticky rice is really a dessert! How can I still eat the rice that just showed off a big pineapple? As a result, I just took a bite of sticky rice, with sweet coconut milk and fresh mango, and I showed off another plate! ! Thai milk tea, very graceful taste~ The cold Thai milk is sweet but not too sweet, and there is some tea flavor! You have to drink it cold~ Super fragrant! Overall, their restaurant is really delicious! I am super full~ The saltiness is very moderate, the kind that I want to continue eating the next day, it is really good! It is very close to LSE, UCL, and KCL, go!
I recently discovered a Thai restaurant where you can find Thai food that is not commonly found in London Such as Prawn in Karee sauce, stir fried clams with chilli paste and the famous Thai dish, baked prawn with glass noodle; Goong ob woon sen. I also recommend getting the Tom Yum and the Massaman curry. The mango sticky rice was the perfect way to finish off the meal
This place is a real hidden gem! Came here with a bunch of friends including two people from Thailand and we all LOVED the food! the drinks and desserts were also fantastic Food: 5/5
Tucked away near Red Lion Street, Sawadika offers a great range of authentic Thai dishes. Perfect for sharing, you can enjoy classic favorites like Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice as well as more unique dishes like Raw Prawn and Tom Yum Seafood Hot Pot. Their A La Carte offers a more premium selection than most Thai restaurants in London but they also have a very reasonable lunch offer during the week. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
It’s a great place to go for dinner. Food was good and chairs comfortable. There is space for large groups ie 10 people or so. The staff was nice enough to wait for us to reach the restaurant and was accommodating even though we were late. However was a little bit rude when it came to paying as they rushed us out a bit. Maybe they were tired as it was late evening. Vegetarian options: Tofu alternatives available Dietary restrictions: The menu is marked properly and chef is highly attentive to allergens. Parking: It’s central London. Kid-friendliness: The restaurant has got enough space for a buggy but I wouldn’t say it’s kid friendly. There’s no changing table I don’t think. And the menu is quite standard tailored to adults. Did not see a high chair but didn’t ask for one either so I don’t know if they have one. Wheelchair accessibility: It is not ideal but I believe a wheelchair should actually be able to fit in the restaurant. The only issue is toilets are downstairs.
Okay, SO. The food tastes very strange. Sometimes it's salty, sometimes it's sweet, sometimes it's spicy, sometimes it's sour. It's very, very strange. The more you eat, the worse it tastes. I only recommend Thai milk tea and yellow curry with chicken thigh what I ordered. The rest I ordered taste strange. The satay chicken taste very salty and strange. It just doesn’t taste right. Tom yum also taste very very sour I just can’t take this style. Pineapple fried rice taste a sweet but also weird, there is raisins, nuts and other ingredients in there. I forgot what the other dish I ordered but it’s very spicy. Plus the amount were small and expensive. We also ordered Raw prawn. WELL they didn’t clean it properly!!! There is still digestive tract in it. Tastes kinda greasy but not really, it like the feeling when you ate too much favorite food that made you feel sick. That all we ordered. The atmosphere was good, and the quality was good the restaurant looks pretty except from the food we ordered. I don’t know if other meal taste nice but the meal I ordered was not great. One last thing, the waitress has a very bad attitude, we just want the bill and asked if you pay with cash will there be discounts, and they had a very impatient attitude and said no. They were very rude after we finished our meal. The meal doesn’t seem to taste great as how they look like.
