Clean environment and quick service but wasn't super impressed with the quality of food nor the service at this place. Had a chicken pad thai pictured which lacked flavour and substance. The rude waiter reluctantly gave me a receipt after I asked for it. However, it was a cheap meal under five pounds so you get what you pay for!
So before I start the review, I would have liked to give 3.5 stars but Google doesn’t allow half stars. Food The food portions are generous. As for taste, it can be a bit hit or miss and most of the time the food is on the blander side. For example, any dish that has chicken in it has always come out with the chicken itself lacking in flavour. However it’s usually compensated because it’s in noodles or soup that has much more flavour. So far the best value is the Laksa which at £5.90 is amazing cause it does come with some prawn. Ambience Clean and bright. Nothing to write home about. Service The servers are always very friendly and attentive. Food arrives quite quickly. Price Here is where Tuk Tuk excels. One of the most cost effective meals in the Soho area for as little as £4.90. Overall I’ll definitely come back cause it’s a cheap bite and the flavour can be adjusted using soya sauce or chilli sauce which is available on each table
Tried the Malaysian fried noodle and came back the next day to try the fried because I saw it really tempting. Both food are good and the price is really reasonable. Authentic asian taste, strong taste. Would definitely come back again next time! The staff was also good.
This is one of my favourite cheap eats in Soho and in London. Food comes with great portion and quality is very good. The price is as cheap as you will see in Soho.
My preferred quick and easy Singapore/Malaysian diner in town. My personal favourites are the laksa and the char kway teow.
Cheap place for noodles. Quick service and decent food but the environment is like an abandonded dirty place. Shame not taking care to make more friendly this place...
It's not Thai food, more like a Chinese one, if it can be called "food". It's AWFUL. Never in my life have I had only one bite of my order and then left the restaurant. I have never wanted to waste food but at that moment, I realised life is short to publish myself to swallow it.
Great value for money, especially in central London. The food is excellent for the price. But I wish they didn't assume I was an alcoholic. While waiting for a friend I ordered two beers but was told I could only have one. They would only bring the second when my friend arrived. Just plain odd. Torn seats and a bit scruffy, but clean. The food is reasonably tasty and the portions quite generous. Service has always been emotionless but it was never a problem as they were attentive and not unfriendly. Recently however it has become colder. They make strange demands and comments as above and noted in other reviews, and have become quite pushy: asking repeatedly for your order with barely 30 seconds between pauses, trying to clear plates and bottles when you haven't finished eating or drinking, offering the bill and effectively ushering you out. It's a shame because it had always been a relaxed place to get a nice, fast and affordable meal. Edit: 3.5 stars
Good cheap eats in SOHO. Big portions and quality food considering how cheap it is. Saw some comments complaining about how bad or "rushed" the service is. I saw it differently... they do want to get you in and out as fast as possible, but this also means that they are lightning quick to attend to you. Any time i glanced at the waitress she was table side, ready to get me anything I asked for. Meals are 5 pounds and beers are 2.60 pounds
I popped in here for some food before hitting the cinema in Leicester square. Considering it's in central London , I thought the prices were great. I had two very filling dishes and two beers and it only cost about 16 quid. The food was well presented, filling and tasty. They accommodated the fact I wanted my rice plain instead of egg fried at no extra cost and the staff were courteous.
