My wife and I had the most awful customer service with Santander while trying to call their Kingston branch and make an appointment to update her surname name. When I called Santander back, the appointment was not recorded in their system, the branch would have been closed at the time provided by customer service and as an aggravating circumstance, we would have a 2-months old daughter at home, waiting for mum to return, while we sort out this issue in the branch. The customer service team dropped the call after being asked their name and surname and the next attendant did not want to record this information in the system, I had to ask him to read the complaint note three times and he did not want to put the aggravating circumstances, but only that we were "unhappy" with the customer service provided and the call had been dropped by the previous attendant, who did not call back. It is unbelievable and unacceptable that we need to go through such a hassle to arrange a branch appointment and change a name. I do not even know what else to say regarding this customer service. Please, judge it yourself.
My husband, Morris LOYA is blind and often comes to the Kingston branch for help with his account. On Wednesday we came in together, to get help transferring money to family The staff were very busy but I want to say a big thank-you to Claudia and Giuseppe who helped us with kindness and patience
The branch is not open at a time when people with actual jobs can get to it. The external machines don't work - so really its a total and utter waste. Unlike other branches - the Kingston branch is a farce.
Only 2 counters open - queue to the door. A woman walks around telling you there are no more staff to open other counters! So many branches closed and when you travel miles you then have to wait ages. Terrible
Used the plastic card recycler. Good for environment and a workout cranking the handle.
Painful experience trying to just change my name on the account post marriage. Have forms & certificate all ready to go, just a simple case of handing them over - unlike some banks it has to be F2F which means an hour of waiting for one of the very few staff members to be available
Helpful and polite members of staff.Not as busy as it used to be which shows with only 3 out of 6 counters open and less members of staff.Clearly see that the bank isn't used as much as it was.
This is not a bank. it's a circus. You would think removing yourself from a joint account would be straightforward. No, it's been so painful. My ex provided the signed form to the Hackney branch, and they requested my ID, so i went to the Kingston branch and attempted to give the ID to them. They told me I must provide the ID to the Hackney branch, as they had the signed form, I refused to accept this, and I requested they scan my ID and send this to the Hackney branch via email it is 2023 we have emails. They did this, but I am still waiting for my name to be removed from the account.
Only 2 staff working the tills so huge queue that didn’t move. Not even got staff weeding through the queue to sorts out minor enquires which mine was. Eventually I had to leave without competing my business. Waste of time.
After days of trawling multiple high street banks including other branches of Santander finally found a branch with excellent customer service skills and whose staff have the knowledge required for their job. They were able to explain exactly what I needed to know and saved me wasting countless hours of my time can't thank them enough for their help and kindness.
