We recently ordered a Victoria sponge from Sandford’s for a birthday celebration, and it was absolutely divine. The sponge was perfectly light and fluffy, but the jam in particular was delicious—it really made the whole cake sing!nIt’s getting harder and harder to find a brilliant traditional bakery like this these days. They are a dying breed, and their craft is sorely missed elsewhere. If you’re in Great Torrington, do yourself a favor and stop by. You just can’t beat that authentic, freshly-made quality!
Came in today for the first time, and can’t say anything more good about the place. Food is tasty and so is the sweet treats! Thanks to the lady for the suggestion, the traditional pasty was the best I’ve had so far ! Everything looked great in there and the workers love their job and I can see why! Would recommend for newbies passing by.
So many delicious things to choose from! We will be back to sample the famous pasties and savouries but we thoroughly enjoyed the sweet treats we bought! We also bought 7 gingerbread men for all he nephews and they went down very well indeed! Thank you Sandford’s
Lovely local independent bakery selling a wide range of bread loaves, buns, cakes and naughty treats which are all made in house and very inventive like their Creme Egg Brownie Scotch Egg.nThey also have some seriously tasty savoury offerings in the form of Puff and Shortcrust Devon Pasties, Mini Quiches, Scones, Cheese Straws and more.nYou can also pickup a hot or cold drink to wash things down.
Bustling local bakery that is clearly the place to get lunch for miles around. Particularly good puff pastry pasty and good cakes. Only two tables so don't rely on being able to eat inside.
