Story

Browns has been open since March 1994 (well not literally, we have to sleep and go on holiday!) We pride ourselves on selling good quality “proper” food and old fashioned service. We make all our own quiches, salads, pates, cakes, jams, chutneys, soups and cook hams, which are supplied to us from a local farmer. We use local ingredients where ever possible and always use the best quality ingredients available.

Cream, butter and yogurt from Dunns dairies from Exbourne.
Meringue shells from Westcountry meringues.
Tea from the Devonshire Tea Company.
Holsworthy Ales.
'Yore' sparkling mead.
Beer from the Moonchild Brewing Co at Petrocstowe.
Teonis Devon cookies
Taylors coffee from Harrogate ( ok, not local but very fine coffee!)
Fruit from Boyces farm in Shillingford-St-George for our jam, chutney and ice-cream
Burts crisps from Devon
Apple juice and Vintage Cider from Heron Valley.
Fruit wines from the Lyme Bay Winery
Tarka Springs mineral water from Langtree

We sell a variety of cheeses, predominantly from the west country including Sharpham Brie, Devon blue, Cornish Yarg, Cheddar from Quickes and North Tawton dairy as well as traditional favourites such as Stilton.
