This restaurant serves Indian cuisine with class yet at affordable prices. The menu has a lot of Bengali-oriented dishes; overall it accomodates for vegetarian and other diets, there is a great and interesting selection to choose from and enjoy. Samrat is a great choice, whether it's lunch-for-two or a big group dinner celebration; alcoholic drinks are also on offer in this beautiful old-fashioned setting. On top of it all, the service is great.
Just back from a trip to Ireland, had a few pints in The Abbey just down the road, was gonna get a takeaway but decide to eat in. Was not disappointed!! The food was gorgeous...I don't normally have any starter but was so hungry after getting in from the airport. So had sheek kebab, amazing. Then chicken Korma and a garlic naan, amazing!!! Then I had a dessert which I never do cause I'd be so full!? Anyways had choc ice cream and it was sooo nice, helped cleanse the pallette mmmmm! So glad I went in!
Ignore the bad reviews about online delivery this place is a must to eat in. Been here a few times recently and been amazing food every time. Lots of tables and space, the lager is ice cold and the staff very friendly. The naan was so crisp, hot and fresh I had to wait for it to cool down! The prices are very reasonable for the location as well. I will be returning!
Dined there for the fourth time in the last year or so. Really great food and an authentic dining experience. Nice friendly service as well. Recommended.
The food was fresh, tasty, and reasonable. This is a hidden gem in East London. This is my 2nd visit and I will eat here again.Food: 5/5
It's in Canning Town, so a bit away from everything, but if you are around and like indian food: theirs is to die for. Freshly cooked, nicely arranged, tasty. The staff were great, too. Go here if you have the chance to.
Nice setting inside, good food- me and my family really enjoyed it, service could have been slightly better. I'm surprised this restaurant wasn't packed for a Saturday evening considering the quality of the food. I would certainly recommend !
Food is amazing! Delivery is quick. I ordered the set meal non vegetarian and it is enough for 1 and some 2nds
Got a takeaway delivery the food was absolutely amazing.. very tasty loved every dish yum yum
This was absolutely horrible. We used to go here for many years and never expected anything great but you knew what you were getting and then it got really bad. A friend went recently and said it was good again so we ordered food. It went in the bin. The lime pickle was not homemade but from a jar and stale. Everything was bland. The makhani was particularly disturbing as it was not only bland and oily and a nuclear colour but we all found bones in ours that we could not place on a chicken. The bindhi bhaji smelt like fish and smelt gone off to be honest. We tasted it and it tasted the same and as for the tinned new potatoes covered in green slime which were advertised as new potatoes with a green massala paste with chilli etc. The photo says it all. It looks like a great dish for Halloween. Please avoid at all costs.
