About

Salt sits on the fantastic waterside development of Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay and we hold a central point to the quayside where you can enjoy al fresco drinking and dining with unspoilt views across Cardiff Bay.

Story

A series of bars spanning two floors, the soaring interior of Salt is amazing with floor to ceiling windows providing stunning views of Cardiff bay. With drift wood furniture and cosy sofas, roaring fires in the winter months and plenty of outdoor terrace seating to enjoy when the sun pops out!

Enjoy a laid back café style experience by day. Lunch is served daily from noon where the menu features a selection of hot dishes, delicious soups, gourmet sandwiches and daily specials along with an excellent selection of coffees and yummy pastries.

By night, Salt turns into one of Cardiff’s most stylish bars offering an extensive range of premium beers, spirits and fine wines, along with great music entertainment. All our cocktails are buy one get one free 5pm to 10pm daily. Friday and Saturday nights the drinking and dancing does not stop till 2am!

With live DJ’s every Friday & Saturday nights and monthly live acts we are the perfect place to party on the weekends.

Beautiful bar with a wide selection of drinks. Great view of the bay too.
Possibly the slowest service ever! Over an hour's wait for food with only four tables occupied. Location is great- move it somewhere else and they'd be lucky to survive a week.
The sign on the door says 2 for 1 cocktails til ten eveeyday. Ordered two. Changed full price after they were made. The bartender said they don't do 2 for 1 one rugby days.
Always pay a visit when I'm down the bay for a wine or two! Quite a good atmosphere in the evening when an event is on. Looking forward to my next visit already!
Poor cocktails considering their boosting sign about being world class. Watched bartender poor and some were just 25ml too - awful considering so close to Las Iguanas and Cosy Club that do it 5x better for same price.

Never been before and not dissapointing service was great and food delicious. Would highly recommend especially as they gave us 15% off as my husband used his blue light card for bus staff.
Small portions, 2 of us had steak which includes onion rings they didn't come with the meal had to ask for them. Food very average. Soft drinks more ice then pop
