Very confusing store. From the outside it looks like an awesome vegan shop. But in the inside they have they have a very disappointing range of products. Lots of non vegan mayonnaise for example, and only 1 small jar of very expensive vegan mayo. Then at the till a whole range of chewing gum and candies and lottery tickets just the same as any newspaper shop. It is not indicated which wine is vegan. They don't even have vegan cheese apart from grated mozzarella. All in all the inside is not in line with the amazing outside. No clear concept at all. Also, it's because of shops like this that people think vegan is too expensive.
This is the best neighbourhood shop in Manchester or Salford. I really like having a shop nearby that has character. The staff are amazing. Friendly, really helpful, clearly care about their job. Really good range of products, ethical brands, basics, snacks. Everything you need. The beer selection is amazing. Like, you will be impressed. Basically if the people who work in this shop opened a bar I'd be in there all the time. I'm almost embarrassed by how enthusiastic I am about this shop. There should be a tip jar.
At first I thought this was just a store that's open late at night, but it actually has a very nice range of various vegan goodies, largely in their lunch/canned goods/frozen/sweets section. Far more varied and frankly tastier ones than in the bigger chain stores - lots of local brands are on sale here, too. It's great, if a little more expensive than Tesco's. Not sure why anyone would be annoyed at the staff, either, they're great. The post office is usually in far too much demand at lunchtime, so maybe that's it?
It used to be good and staff is always super nice, but now u never know when it’s open. Came there few times mid day just to see that store is closed, either they close whenever they want or the info on their website is not correct. Disappointing :
Past few times I've visited it's been closed so I'm not sure if it's still open. The shop has a great selection of products though and there's a post office inside too which is handy.
Salford General Store went above and beyond to help me in a time of serious need. Upon calling at 10pm, desperately trying to find somewhere that could help me with my problem, Maisie was very reassuring on the phone and told me to pop down to the store so she could help me. She made sure someone was covering the till whilst she went out of her way to solve the issue for me. Very friendly and helpful staff here folks! Thanks again Maisie!!
Great location. Great higher quality products. Locally sourced free range milk. Tends to have a good selection of craft beers, snacks, vegetables and bread. Post Office being on-site is very useful also.
This store is literally a Godsend. Living right by the train station, this store is a refuge of mine whenever I require something during hours in which Tesco nor Sainsbury's are no longer open. I am a big fan, they have some quality stuff in this store too that you wouldn't find in city supermarkets special sauces, loads of craft beer, and much more. This store is simply awesome, and the limited number of stellar reviews here on Google truly baffles me.
Nice indie store. Small but well chosen ranges of beer and vegan food in amongst the usual stuff, and there's a refill station for eco friendly soaps and whatnot which is pretty cool. The staff go out of their way to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, during covid times I think that says alot
Underwhelming at best. Firstly turned away six minutes after the post office was closed even though my parcel was clearly accessible on the shelf behind the lady. It wouldn’t have taken any effort at all to pass me the parcel. Returned again only to be chastised for having a parcel delivered there even though it came up as a delivery option with the company I have booked from. Really, don’t bother, shop at the co-op if you want to support a local company. Won’t be going back.
