Great Sainsbury’s service station - modern, clean and a small shop for basics. Most things catered for with free water and air. Toilets available at the far left.

Somehow Sainsbury's have missed out here.  A few years ago they fought a hard battle for planning permission to build a supermarket in the village.  I and many hundreds of locals voted for it...but Sainsbury's pulled out of the deal.

They then build this petrol station with attached shop, but it is constantly out of stock?  They sell milk and bread...but not butter or cheese?  They sell 1.75ltr of fizzy cola for £1.35, but it is constantly out of stock...so you have to buy standard bottles at £1.25!!!

You can't buy a ready meal, sliced ham, tins of beans or peas, eggs or bacon, or anything that makes a quick meal.

All too expensive, all too predictable and all too mundane.  Come on Sainsbury's...utilise the shop, we voted for you to give our village some choice...you could at least give us somewhere to buy something... other than crisps, sweets and energy drinks.

UPDATE:  Although I was pretty seething in my review above, there are two things I must praise.  The staff are very friendly and welcoming...and this station has that long forgotten, rarity in the UK fuel station...FREE water AND air!!!😱.  And therefore I am upgrading their score, from 2* to 4*.

Well done Sainsbury's...now...about that shop?

Get a nectar card, worth it if you fill up here a lot like I do. They do Crunchies for 50p. I am getting fat

Card machines don't work on pump with my Lloyd's card!! Still haven't fixed it after months. Not great when I'm in a rush!! Please fix!
