ID’d for buying a red bull when I’m covered in tattoos and of age.nWouldn’t return to the shop looks like a lot of people have complaints so it seems .
This store managers are very rude and racists, make racist remarks at customers, their policies mostly but not least apply to black, Asian looking customers and those with foreign accents, overcharged if you pay by card, ask for a receipt your frowned at and given an evil look, your shadowed around the shop, these staff members identify ethnic minorities with aggression and will quickly brand you as rude if challenge a wrong charge, some of them don’t pay attention at the counter and make repeat charges on same item, will not honour their reduced sale, mark some items as reduced price yet only colour of pricing sticker changed, will not allow a customer to explain a concern, staff are extremely judgmental and hostile, they will often yell at scruffy looking customers, those with speech difficulties and language barriers are deemed undesirables in the store. Customers who get frustrated often talk louder to be heard clearly, but staff will quickly brand them as intimidating.nOften fruit and vegetables are sold rotting as discovered with the mangoes, avocados, rather expensively, unfair pricing system.nI have lived 10yrs in this area and observed all the above mentioned assaults on customers, this store colleagues seem to forget that the store only exists because of the all walks of life customers they abuse and mock.nThe Coo-op, Lidle and Tesco whose staff promote excellence are around the corner, avoid this local Sainsbury’s store and take your money where your presence, race, age, dignity , diversity in general is represented, respected, where you feel safe, Torquay st Marychurch Sainsbury’s local store is not a Healthy and Safe place to shop.nOnly two male staff members who have worked there long term seem to keep this store open, as they are the only considerate staff this store got.
Poor stock of vegan and vegetarian food
Shopped at 07:14 on 04/10/23 Female member of staff refuses to say thank-you when you pay , The morning manager is also rude and aggressive . I have shopped at this store for numerous years .nthey are promoting the Co-Op round the corner with this appaling attitude
Handy location and friendly staff. Useful parking outside but it is small and is often full.nnMore expensive than regular Sainsbury's for some reason but obviously you've got a much more limited range of goods as it's a much smaller store.nnFor daily goods however, it is a practical solution if you don't want to travel to the bigger store on the outskirts of Torquay.
