Extremely upsetting experience – Sainsbury’s Kiln Lane, EpsomnnToday at around 6:20pm, I visited this store to collect an online grocery order placed by my sister, who injured her knee and could not come herself. After waiting all day for a delivery that never arrived, I went in person to collect it.nnI walked straight towards the kiosk. I was wearing a helmet. Before I could even reach the kiosk or explain anything, a female cashier wearing a hijab saw me from a distance and immediately started saying “not my department, not my department”. The store was extremely quiet at the time — there was not a single customer at her till.nnWhen I reached the kiosk, I said that at the very least I should be asked what the issue is before being dismissed. I explained that I was there to collect an online order. She continued repeating “not my department” and refused to guide me or contact someone who could help.nnI then approached another staff member wearing a wireless headset, who responded the same way. At this point, it felt like a pattern, as multiple staff members with communication headsets refused to assist or redirect me.nnI waited approximately 15 minutes at the kiosk without receiving any help.nnEventually, I approached a woman who appeared to be a supervisor or manager, identifiable by multiple badges and a body camera. She was laughing and joking with another employee. When I politely said, “Miss, I’m having a problem here, can you please help me?” she did not look at me, asked no questions, simply said “no”, and walked out of the store into the car park to vape.nnI followed outside and calmly explained that her behaviour was hurtful and unprofessional, especially given her senior position. At that point, she began swearing at me, which left me extremely distressed. I nearly broke down in tears.nnI left the store feeling belittled, ignored, and racially profiled. This experience was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable, particularly from senior staff.nnI will be returning to the store tomorrow to file a formal complaint regarding the conduct of both the cashier at the kiosk and the supervisor/manager involved. I strongly urge Sainsbury’s management to review the CCTV footage and staff conduct from this time and take appropriate action.
A surprisingly spacious parking area where you can stay for up to three hours for free — something you don’t often find these days, and definitely a big advantage. The store itself is large, offering a wide range of different products, and overall feels quite convenient for shopping. The only drawback I noticed was that the staff seemed a bit slow, which made the checkout process take longer than expected. Aside from that, it’s a very practical place to shop
The store is good and the staff are most of the time polite and helpful.nnThe issue is the family parking. There are only a few spaces and they are often taken by people who clearly do not have children with them. I have a 4 month old baby, so having proper access to these spaces makes a real difference. What is the point of having family spaces if families cannot actually use them?nnIt is becoming difficult to visit because of this, and I am now starting to think about shopping somewhere else, even though the store itself is absolutely fine. I am not sure if there are cameras or any monitoring in place, but something needs to be done to make sure these spaces are used as intended.
always well stocked with great customer service. whoever selflessly handed in my golden folding phone I left on the trolley Sunday 1 March approx 3.30pm , I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. thank you, it means a huge amount that you handed it in and I really appreciate it. if I can return the favour please dont hesitate to ask.nto the sainsbury security chap, thank you for letting me in the store i know it was 4pm and to the customer service lady, thank you very much too!
if i could i would give it both 5 stars and a zero star review based on a recent experience. 5 stars is based on my frequent online deliveries. quite reliable, good quality and all, saver delivery offers low cost on deliveries so overall very happy. there is even a way to self refund if anything may have gone wrong with an item, which i ve had to use extremely rarely.nthe short version is: i received none of 4 items that i ordered for a family celebration under the 'occasions' section with no warning, which left me completely unprepared on a sunday afternoonnthe longer version: i was recently prompted to check their 'occasions' range and i thought why not, i could see a few family favourites and there was a family occasion approaching and influenced by some positive reviews was really looking forward to it. i ordered 4 items out of the occasions menu, one desert and other cooked / party food options. i was required to order it 5-7 days in advance and commit to that purchase. i was notified 2 or 3 days prior the delivery date that the desert is no longer available when i was reviewing my order which felt really disappointing cause this was the first item that drew me to using that option. i was then notified on the day of the delivery that another item is not available .. and then by the delivery driver that my further two items have also not been available. i also attempted leaving a review to warn people about this and my review wasnt allowed to be posted on sainsburys site itself as it wasnt commenting on the quality of the product. guess what, never received the product! anyway, found that to be extremely poor and careless and more people should be aware
