A very stressful experience! Extended my unit for an extra month, so made a payment thinking that would be it. Then started receiving invoices every week to the point where it got ridiculous. Had to make arrangements to get everything out as quick as I could before more money got demanded from me. On top of that I got charged another £80 when closing the account and had to pay for an extra fortnight even though the locker was no longer in use. All they want to do is take as much money as they can! Avoid at all costs!!
It was extremely easy to hire storage and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I wasn't quite sure which size I would need so they showed me the different sizes which really helped. Would definitely recommend.
1 Building is in a convenient town location. 2 Access is tight, with parking spaces limited. A removal company vans take up space 3 Staff friendly, check in process smooth enough. Unimpressed with very high Insurance rates offered in sales process. 4 Facility clean, security visibility average. Enclosed roof cover good. Trolley availability good. Manoeuvrability average. 5 Lift function poor. Only 1 of 3 operating, leading to delays. Facility would be inoperable if the 1 lift failed. 6 Storage unit clean, floor good, walls strong metal and door wide enough for entry, giving general reasonable access. Lighting average. 7 Value for money = average to low.
Was good until a new employee recently started. I was told to clear out my locker and pay for the next 9 days during which time they could get double rent by letting it to someone else!;Also there were belongings missing. I started paying £9 per week, then £15 per week now they want £22 per week for 10 ft locker and I've been offered a 25ft locker elsewhere for half that price!
Very good value and all the staff were very helpful, tolerant when completion dates changed and just lovely to deal with.
Excellent communication. Special thanks to Lauren who liaised directly with the removals men as the move was happening, organising a storage room of a different size. The entire move-in was completed without me having to attend. A very smooth process.
Alex, Melissa and Ben are amazing. Actually Amazing is not the word. Alex brings charm, a charm that is rare from a middle age man that is below average height and above average weight but has obviously come to grips with this as his passion for selling storage is breathtaking. Now Melissa is the brains, the skill and the professional. With her smile she doesn’t need to sell storage,,,,, it just sells itself. Lastly Ben with the height and the looks, now he completes the team. This is not a team that dreams, they are not the dream team, they are a storage selling sensation.

I had a very pleasant experience when enquiring about a storage unit to use as a personal gym space. There were multiple things I had to consider prior to renting it out. Rachel and Melissa were more than happy to help me with my questions. Rachel showed me the unit initially and she was very polite and friendly. Melissa showed me around the first time I used the unit and she too was very friendly and made me feel welcome. I would definitely recommend Safestore.
