Beware ! We applied and received via safeguard online our insurance and breakdown cover for our 1990 Hymer Motorhome . We broke down in the south of France on a motorway and subsequently found out we didn’t have break down cover as our Motorhome was more than 20 years old ! Nowhere during the quote process or in the policy does it state our vehicle has no breakdown cover . In fact The quote actually confirms we have break down cover ! The predicament we were left in as a result was so stressful and had it not been for our own financial resources we would have been completely stranded ! Date of experience: November 01, 2022
Had tourer caravan cover for years...this year I needed to claim as got caught in flash floods in France. Safeguard refused to pay/replace items in the awning as stated only awning itself is covered and its unsafe to leave things in awning anyway! Ridiculous, I had flood damage cover but apparently this only covers the caravan.
Great price insurance for out campervan with AA cover included which we did use once. Never made a claim but they were easy to deal with when sorting out renewals. When we sold our van we recommend Safeguard to the new owner.
I've been with safeguard for 20ys I rang around could of saved £50 but that expression you don't know how good they are until you need them and I need them re a claim and they were brilliant
Best insurance and recovery I’ve ever spent my money on
most expensive one I have come across. When I stated that, they said they could reduce it, so that tells me, at first you tried to get the high band quote, then offer a lower quote when I refused the high band one. The correct way is to offer the customer the lowest quote, not try and see if they will be taken on for an higher one.
My initial premium was £118 at renewal£180.a quick phone call reduced it to £150.iI did a new online quote with the same company and it came out cheaper still.went with another company in the end..I am not a fan of the idea that after your first year the premiums go up for no reason.it should be a loyalty thing.the safeguard operator was very apologetic about the way there structure works.I will get a quote from them next year Sadly you dont know how good an insurance is until you have to make a claim..fingers crossed this wont happen

First time insuring with safeguard. Over £200 less than current insurer! Great service so far & AA breakdown includes as standard!
