The guy running the shop knows his place inside and out, is super helpful and relatively friendly. Highly recommended for local history, trivia and interest related books. Some characters are in regular attendance so quite good for people watching too!

Well what can I say - room upon room of endless books - a literary feast of mainly secondhand books - you should find what you're looking for here - allow plenty of time!!

I do like this shop - lots and lots of books to explore. It is not without problems, however. Some shelves are pretty high and there are not many things around to stand on safely to remove books without the lot coming down on you. Some piles of books on the floor are easy to fall over and make it hard to see what is behind them. This is all part of the fun of shopping in such an eclectic collection, of course. What really puts me off coming back more often is the unfriendly sign telling me to leave my bags at the counter while I browse, meaning I need to carry my phone, wallet, keys and other valuables loose, or leave them with a stranger. I'm sorry, no that is actually rude, and means these days I generally prefer to give my custom to an anonymous website.
