Visited this great museum at the end of my holiday and before getting the train home. It is still currently free and there is plenty to see and there is an outside area and a gift shop Donations welcome, and there is a car park adjacent but it is a pay and display Allow an hour to visit
Really excellent museum. It includes a recreation of a 19th century kitchen, an explanation of how Rutland Water came into being, the history of Rutland and lots of machinery that was used in this mainly rural county.
Excellent, very interesting. The museum has the only surviving gallows in the country. Plenty of of items/ vehicles relating to the area. I would highly recommend a visit.
Good range of items on display with good info covering Rutlands history from prehistoric to making Rutland Water. Enjoyed the big agricultural equipment on display. Freindly and helpful staff with good knowledge. Free to enter but worth a donation.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Lovely Museum lots of cabinets on the first floor with all sorts of specimens to look at such as flint spears etc. There were also a good number of farming tools & large groups of tractors, threshers etc. Really a great place to visit
