I phoned this morning at 20 seconds before 8.00 and after Hearing Sir Dr. HAMLEY'S pre- recorded message I pressed the button to book an appointment for Sue. The message said Not Open Yet. I switched off and Dialled straight back the prerecorded message said we were 29 in the queue!!! After waiting TWO HOURS. Still only 9 in the queue. We hung up and Dialled 111 for some help .After Hearing Sue's problems They offered to send a Non Urgent Ambulance to take her to Hospital. Sue thanked them but said no need as I could take her. They let the Hospital Know and when we arrived they had all Details. We saw a Doctor very Quickly who Diagnosed her with a Bad Chest Infection and Precribed her with TWO Medication s Including Antibiotics. Great Service. I think it is about time SIR. DOCTOR Hamley stood. DOWN.The Receptionists and Nurses are Great
Dr Hambly is a brilliant Doctor who is always available, despite the enormous workload he and the surgery team have. I have recently been diagnosed as needing a heart bypass, and this was only diagnosed because Dr Hambly sent me to a cardiologist. He is a great Doctor, and I am very grateful to him for potentially saving my life.
I received a brilliant service from Rusthall GP just before Xmas when I was given an emergency appointment on the same day. A telephone appointment with my doctor followed by a face to face appointment, and then onwards referral to the hospital. I've never had any issue with booking appointments. Both the doctors and nurses are wonderful here, and receptionists are always helpful.
Urgent appointments capacity is very, very low, and trying to make an appointment if not quite quick enough at exactly 8 am is impossible. Receptionists are always unfriendly, unhelpful, and unempathetic - their primary role seems to be to obstruct all attempts even to speak to a GP. Rusthall Medical Centre clearly needs a radical overhaul of its systems and operational culture.
The doctors are actually very nice, but the whole booking an appointment situation is a completely ludicrous issue on its own, and I think it may have increased anger among patients.
