I shot a wedding here on Saturday, the Registrars were absolutely lovely, they couldn’t have been nicer and more professional. I was also really impressed by the grounds, I looked around before the bride arrived to pick what shots we would get post-ceremony.nnI first asked the security guard to let me in to see the room. He spoke zero English and said no. I kept asking and explaining I was the photographer and he finally let me up for 2 mins. After that he told us we had to leave and locked the door behind us. The groom was even confused to why the door was still locked half an hour before the ceremony.nnFast forward to after the ceremony. I was assured by the registrars that we had all the time we need on the grounds and inside to shoot everything we need. As soon as we stepped out the door the security guards locked everything up. We weren’t allowed into lovely grounds to get the photos we wanted and the security guard just kept saying no he wanted to go home. We expressed we were allowed to keep shooting. This was only 15/20 mins after the ceremony so it’s not like we were keeping him forever. The guard was then very rude and said we definitely couldn’t shoot inside the building. I’d even left my camera bag upstairs in which I told him I needed to get it and he said no. After arguing in front of the bride and groom which isn’t exactly good he said we could get it. I sent my partner up to get it as I had a limited time to get photos as the driver was only booked until 6pm. She went up and there were 3 security guards and one of them followed her weirdly around the building starring and made her feel very uncomfortable.nnIt’s unfortunate but they’ve put a dampener on a really nice day and have made me reluctant to ever take a wedding booking here again.nnIf anyone from the venue wants me to discuss this further in the phone I’m happy to!

Beautiful venue, Phil & Karen the registrars were amazing. As the groom they held my nerves made me feel relaxed knowing they were taking care of everything. The ceremony was perfect, I got my words mixed up but Karen made me relaxed with repeating the words. Phil was so nice at the signing, explained everything perfectly and why he was asking the questions. I'd have given the venue 5 stars, however the council emailing us 3 days before the ceremony to reduce our numbers by at least 60% with no reduction to the fees or any apology, then having to tell people that they were no longer able to come to our special day, after spending money on outfits and hotels, especially those that couldn't make the long trip to the evening celebrations, was heartbreaking, however, being the understanding friends that they are, we were still able to have an amazing day

Nice local place to picnic take kids play area and play games. Small outdoor football pitch and smallish pond with ducks in. Not too many people around today so able to distance quite well

Great parkland and well-maintained grounds. Plenty of playground equipment and ball games areas for small kids and teenagers alike.
