Lovely pub. We had an absolutely gorgeous lunch here. Large portioned, well-presented, absolutely delicious, traditional English food. Perfect for finishing our chilly blustery and rainy walk. Reasonably priced. £70 for 4 adult meals, 4 drinks, and a couple of coffees. There was a bit of a wait for food, but was well worth it. A highlight of our visit to England. Thank you.
Friendly team who coped well with a group of cyclists. Great food with a good selection from upmarket sandwiches to full meals. Well kept Harvey's ale. Useful cycle racks and electric charging points
Beautiful pub and garden in a lovely village. Service was good and it was very busy but food was mediocre at best. Had a roast dinner, lamb was tough, potatoes dried out and veg not overly exciting. Perhaps it was just a very busy service therefore under pressure so would give it a second chance but on the day definitely not worth the money. Staff were lovely and very helpful and it's dog friendly too which is great.
I love this place so much. Been going for years and years! Must say todays food was not up to their usual high standard at all. The Burrata salad was a joke. £15 for an old bland dry and not a fresh creamy burrata cheese ball with five thin slices of tomato and sweet cinnamon flavoured dough that didn’t work was a waste of money. Didn’t mention cinnamon on the menu at all. My roast beef looked good with two nice thick slices of meat but was way over cooked and dry with lots of gristle. Round sliced carrots like at school dinners was not good either. Will go back and put it down to an off day but the standards have slipped today.
We had the most wonderful family lunch yesterday and Bliss and her team were absolutely fantastic. She had thought of everything to make it so special with balloons and confetti which was a lovely surprise. All the meals and service was excellent and all our family wanted me to say a big thank you. Will will definitely be coming back again hopefully very soon. Janet and John Mills
Inpromptu pit stop, decided to head here whilst walking from devil's dyke. Very welcoming staff, family and dog friendly. Lovely big garden offering drinks and food to table. Nice skin on chips. Didn't stop for lunch in the end as found it a little pricey.
Heard they did a mean fish and chips, so even though tempted with what else was on offer, we were on a mission. So I thought we'd check it out? Absolutely delicious! The staff are really nice and exceptionally friendly. The interior is really nicely decorated and had a real Christmasy feel to it! Nicely done outside area too, but weather was atrocious and cold. It was a nice way end to 2022!
Lovely pub. I often go there. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Soul who goes the extra mile. Recently they helped us move to a table in a less noisy area and the vegetarian options were great. Highly recommend the wild mushroom and truffle ravioli!
We had a Sunday roast here and I have to say that it was the best chicken roast of my life! The chicken was so tasty and tender but also juicy. Their Yorkshire puddings were amazing too. Would definitely highly recommend this place.
Had a fantastic evening meal with my wife at this delightful village pub last Wednesday eve. The service was superb, food amazing and will definitely be crossing the threshold of this pub again. I would like to thank the staff for making us welcome, we last visited 15 years ago and regret not coming back sooner.
