Let me tell you a story.... This is the weekend my partner decided to propose to me! Totally unaware the plans he had, he had emailed the manager to surprise me with flowers and champagne in the room. As we sign in the receptionist said the flowers were unavailable and she’ll sort the champagne out later. My partner was gutted she ruined the surprise. Get to the room, it’s incredibly dated, with creepy pictures on the wall. The mattress was rock hard, and the television was on the floor.... However there was a jacuzzi bath which I was excited to use. Awful! You have to press the button every 30 seconds to turn it on. Not the relaxing bath I imagined. Go downstairs to enjoy the gym. The equipment is rusty! Go to enjoy the spa treatments. Closed and unavailable until Monday. We were stopping Saturday-Sunday. Apparently my partner had planned to spoil me with some treatments while he was preparing the room for the proposal. We decided to go out for dinner as we were very unimpressed with the hotel so far. We returned at 10 to have a few drinks at the bar and enjoy the gardens. The bar was closed. In the end my boyfriend proposed to me in the room without all the romantic things he had planned because of how much of a let down the hotel had been. The next day, go to enjoy the heated pool and hot tub. Hot tub was broken! And the pool is no way heated! Go back to the room to wash and dry my hair. The in room hairdryer cut out after 2 minutes and started smoking. We informed the MANAGER at the check out about this and he didn’t apologise or show any remorse just radioed housekeeping to take the hairdryer out. The only good thing about the stay was spending time with my partner and getting engaged. Do not waste your money here

Excellent Sunday lunch. The meal was as good as mother made! The staff were efficient and cheerful. The atmosphere was relaxed. Wonderful.

room 267 was very dated.....i feel i have been click baited with the nice photos. bathroom floor was splitting , stains all over carpets , bath seal bodged up , grime and dirt all over doors. this place has not been touched since 1970,s. and worst of all was bar an lobby stank of gone off urine!

Two bob when you’re used to better. Very tired, free WiFi for 20 minutes then you pay, gym and spa all at a charge. Took an Exec room, had better premier inns, check out the TV!

Arrived to be told they had overbooked and there was no rooms dispite us already having booked and paid a week in advance. After around 45 Minutes we were given a room. Not cool! Place was really cheap and ok rooms for money paid. Just felt like the hotel doesn't invest money into it's staffing budget because the staff struggling to meet basic needs of customers and able to perform fundamental duties. I wanted to rate 2.5 stars not 2. But 3 star rating for my experience would be a crime I can't commit to!
