We all know decent quality meat when we see it and Rothbury butcher always lives up to his reputation. If buying sausages though. As there are many on offer, it's worth observing they do select to one's you've chosen. Next door, is a hungry shoppers paradise. Please try the millionaire shortcake. The home made sausage rolls are also superb. Although, last week, a tiny hint, in the plain sausage roll of a spice that really wasn't needed. The presentation for the customers is equal to any French display. Thank you staff for all your effort. They take phone orders and will, if asked, vacuum pack your meat products how you want them. BTW, the Rothbury butcher also has a very nice outlet at Dobbies garden center so if you don't want to navigate the country roads, just turn off the A1 onto the A697 and its less than a mile on the left. A nice cafe and very clean toilets.
Amazing shop to visit. Excellent helpful and friendly customer service both on the deli and the meat counter. The produce is second to none. Small businesses like these are worth their weight in gold serving their local communities and beyond. I will be back.
Staff had me waiting 10 minutes while two of them found a number in the phone for another customer. Surely would only take one person. Finally got served and the women was very abrupt with me even though she's had me standing around 10 minutes. As for the food. The bread roll was as dry as the women's customer service and the birds enjoyed the quiche as I didn't. No taste and just a blob of caramelised onion on top. Bad customer service and waste of journey.
A brilliant Butchers in a splendid town. The quality of their sausages makes me believe that they are the finest in the entire North East of England, just like Inghams do the finest fish and chips in Filey on the Yorkshire Coast.
I always pop on for the sausage, having discovered it whenbI lived there. My experience was spooled by the staff . Straight out of League of Gentlemen, a "local shop for local people" ......what a miserable f......!, its lockdown , the shops empty do you really want to scare away your 1 customer who's travelled 35 miles and made a point of going in and spending a lot money on what is very expensive sausage?? 2 stars for my exquisite toad in the hole that night, nil point for customer service
Every time i come to the Rothbury the first place i go to is the butcher! Simply because what this man got for sale you can only dream of if you live in Newcastle. Last time we had fillet steak which was so well hung that it melted away in the mouth, the meat had a the right almost game taste a sign of great quality! We also had other produce such as the home made sausage rolls I specially buy the Bombay mix ones for myself and anyone in our household who steals one will die..This review might sound a bit odd but honestly if you live in a city and have not tried a real country butcher you must do so, and if you are close to Rothbury do yourself a favour try this butcher, and you will wonder what it was what you were eating that came out of a Supermarket, I sure did.
The home made sausage rolls are amazing. Also try the curry ones too.
Fantastic tandoori sausage rolls! Fantastic savouries in deli side. Kind lady made us up a pot of real ale chutney to go with our picnic! Thank you
