Friendly staff good sized portions and fresh made sandwiches a lovely children’s soft play area. This would have scored 5 but for the overpowering smell of cooking fat.
An interesting entrance ... you have to walk a long way round through all the plants for sale before you can get into the shop part. The door by the car park is exit only. There was a limited selection of plants but all looked in good condition. The large café had a limited menu but really delicious soup which I had with an equally delicious warm cheese scone. The café staff were very pleasant.
Mixed feelings: on one side lovely coffee and cake on the other, I came with 1.5 year old son. Ordered latte and carrot cake with him at the till, they said that they will bring it to play area but upon delivery I was informed that I'm not allowed to eat there because they don't want a mess, they wanted me to exit play area to eat even that there are tables in the play area. First of all, I'm grown adult, I think I can eat without making a mess, secondly it's a soft play area with tables for children, how can you expect not to get messy, children are messy, always. Or if my child is hungry, do you expect me to take him out to feed him and come back? I find this rule bizzare and not suitable for a Caffe with soft play area. It has left a sour taste after otherwise a lovely coffe and cake.
We had lunch here. The food was excellent & very tasty. My Husband & I has a cheesy tea. I would never have thought of having a cheese scone with side salad, coleslaw & chutney. We were both very pleased with the food. The shop was quite extensive and the plants were well cared for & reasonably priced. We bought a few plants & were pleased with the whole trip. Thank you Rose's, we'll be back.
Lovely garden centre not to big, friendly staff great choice of plants at reasonable prices.
Great selection of plants etc and a good cafe. Friendly staff.
Went to the soft play, was clean and quiet we booked later on a week day my son had a great time! We didn’t get to use the cafe because they were closing up by this time. But the garden centre was lovely and the woman working the tills at the time was so friendly and kind. Would recommend.
Very disappointed. We booked for soft play for my son, only to arrive and find out it was already booked for a private party. We managed to have a few minutes in there, but it was chaos. No supervision in the kids area, and much older children over the height restriction running riot in the baby section and knocking my son down. Staff seemed completely oblivious. They offered a refund, which I accepted, but ended up just charging me again, so now I have paid for 2 soft play sessions and haven't even had one.
My friend and I enjoyed the most delicious lunch at Rosie's café - really tasty homemade pea/spinach/mint soup and the cheese scones were so light and cheesy... Highly recommended!
Always so helpful and friendly. Their prices are sooooo competitive.
