Went on the Watercress Line and Ropley was one of the stops. It is such a pretty place. We loved walking around the yard where they repair their engines and a small museum. The weather was glorious on early May bank holiday and you can sit above the station area which has been kept so beautifully and watch the trains stop and pick up pax. Wonderful experience!

Ropley station is on the heritage railway "The Watercress line". It has a two platforms, with holiday cottage (available for hire) and a small children's play area on one side, and the main building on the other side. There is also an engine shed at this station, where rebuilding of locomotives, and carriages takes place. The engine shed has an excellent viewing area to look down on the work taking place. The station is very well kept by the volunteers, with a neat garden. There is often an open fire in the station waiting room. There are toilets and a small shop here.

Great day out for all the family. We went when they had the Thomas the tank engine theme on. Lots to see and do at all the stations as well as riding on the train. Helpful and friendly staff. One thing a would say is parking can be a bit tight if there is an event on, there is normally plenty of parking nearby if full at the station. I would highly recommend.

Its a heritage railway, and it is excellent. Helpful, friendly staff. Worth the visit, no mistake, and the trains seem to run to time without missing out any stops. Rail franchisees take note!

We visited as part of the Day out with Thomas event- the station is beautifully preserved and was a great place to take our young children- the holiday homes on site also looked beautiful. There’s a really pretty view down into the valley which makes the train journey.
